Day 24, 06:40: Malfunction in No. 2 Turbine.
Day 24, 06:41: Patrol ended at Tampa, USA.

only 24 days at sea and still 2 brave crew members gave their life to save the reactors and their crewmates (and a 3rd showed sign of sickness, but he was saved before dying in the port refitting at Tampa).

Nice to have seen the sonar range improved, as i could see the sonar "spike" of the 2nd important target from it before it popped up in the weapon control panel
For the enemy ship encountered, i noticed that the cuban frigate didn't react to my torpedo or didn't tried to change directions, maybe not yet implemented or their sonar is just awful.

(note : remember to enable the mouse support in the gameoptions.ini, much more comfortable to play with it)

Got another patrol in the USA side with 2 missions done, started at Los Angeles, sailed south all the way to spy on Buenos Aires then went to Havana and finally ended the patrol in Tampa.

Mission log of US submarine USS Cheyenne.
Day 1, 05:50: Patrol started in Los Angeles, USA.
Day 2, 08:43: Impeller failure in Bilge Pump.
Day 2, 10:05: Malfunction occured in Control Rods of No. 1 Reactor.
Day 9, 02:41: Major fault detected in No. 1 Reactor coolant pump.
Day 9, 05:26: Turbine generator malfunction.
Day 11, 19:46: Fire suppression system malfunction in fore torpedo room.
Day 13, 06:51: Major fault detected in No. 1 Reactor coolant pump.
Day 17, 09:42: Control Rods failure in No. 2 Reactor.
Day 18, 04:05: Ship sunk: ARA Clorinda (Argentinian Allen M. Summner Class Destroyer).
Day 18, 04:55: Fire in the Fore Torpedo Room.
Day 18, 05:30: Ship sunk: MV Independencia (Argentinian Oil Tanker).
Day 18, 07:04: USS Cheyenne performed reconnaissance of Buenos Aires port facilities.
Day 18, 15:05: Ship sunk: ARA Intrépida (Argentinian Allen M. Summner Class Destroyer).
Day 20, 08:52: USS Cheyenne was attacked with depth charges by IRIS Malyut, a Iranian Allen M. Summner Class Destroyer.
Day 20, 09:52: Ship sunk: IRIS Malyut (Iranian Allen M. Summner Class Destroyer).
Day 20, 10:49: Fire suppression system malfunction in command centre.
Day 24, 22:16: Turbine generator malfunction.
Day 35, 03:19: USS Cheyenne performed reconnaissance of Havana port facilities.
Day 35, 05:55: Ship sunk: Sarandí (Cuban Koni Class Frigate).
Day 36, 08:27: Patrol ended at Tampa, USA.

None died !

Though it was close as i got attacked by an Iranian Destroyer while leaving the Buenos Aires area , i was going a bit too fast at periscope depth with disabled radars (to avoid painting a huge target on me in case detection works in the game) and noticed the Destroyer when it was already near me and throwing depth charge.

Took some damage but lucky my sub and the crew survived the depth charge rain while the Destroyer went above us, and once it got past our location, i could sink the warship from behind with a torpedo.
My crew repaired the many breaches on the hull while i was surfaced , took them a long time as they completed the last breach repair when we were entering the Central America area.

From then, i went to Havana, destroyed an enemy warship that didn't noticed me, and after completing the 2nd mission, i went north to Tampa that i reached without further problems.
My longest patrol so far with 36 days at sea.

Day 46, 16:59: Ship sunk: TCG Giresun (Turkish Knox Class Frigate).
Day 49, 08:29: Patrol ended at Odessa, USSR.

So yeah started in Murmansk(game thought it was Leningrad) and went all around Europe to Mediterranean and Black Sea. Had mission to sink a Turkish destroyer. Had to reload once in Odessa... Depth charges breached the hull and that corridor leading from control centre to generator room was almost flooded - I opened the door to generator room, activated bilge pumps and luckily had a guy with good repair skills, welder and gloves ready!

I learned how to move, went some distance, then a turbine broke, I tried to 'R' people into fixing it, but that just made it break more. I probably should have read things before assuming control a a deadly underwater tin can.

Before repairing an object, press "D" to do a damage assessment first.

I've already had a mess with the objects files. It actually is pretty intuitive to edit.

Well, let's say you're going away from Earth on huge spaceship and suddenly shit goes wrong and you have Super Mutants. Social Experiments prepared them for this.

How would I make this work on a danish keyboard? I am having trouble setting up keys and stuff. Heeeelp!!

To setup your own keys, here's an example

I want the + and - functions to be bound to A and Q keys instead of the english keyboard + and - keys

In the scancodes.txt i find the Q and A values :
Q       16
A       30

Now i open the keybindings.ini and see
pri_up_key = 13      ; Default is 13 ('+')
pri_down_key = 12   ; Default is 12 ('-')

So i change
pri_up_key = 13
into
pri_up_key = 16
for the + function to be bound to the Q key

and change
pri_down_key = 12
into
pri_down_key = 30
for the - function to be bound to the A key

Just be careful to not have several functions bound to a same key, i doubt it would work well
