vanilla df update and masterwork

Mostly asking the people doing the actual modding here...

So when df is updated what are the plans then? Will work to convert the mod to the vanilla version start asap?

Do you have any ideas regarding the climbing, the growing trees a.s.o. that you want to implement if possible?

I will have to wait several months, because all the utilities need to.be updated first, then I will do the mod update.

Yeah, I understand that. Last major release had some strange bugs that was fixed during the months after as well I think.

Any ideas about the new features though?

We don't know what's in the raws and what's hardcoded until release. Who knows if dfhack will just needs offsets this time around or a big rewrite. We're certainly getting new raw tags in most everything. It's all rather unknown. Best to play vanilla anyway to see what's what before breaking things. Breaking things before you know how they work does not yield the best results.

We don't know what's in the raws and what's hardcoded until release. Who knows if dfhack will just needs offsets this time around or a big rewrite. We're certainly getting new raw tags in most everything. It's all rather unknown.

We've got a lot, and the amount that we got before 0.34.01 was enough for me to release two mods the day of release that fully featured the new features of the update.

There's also a new GET_ITEM_FROM_REAGENT (or something like that) that uses ITEM_REACTION_PRODUCT or some token like that. That's very useful.

Omg, get item from reagent? That allows soooo much, I wanted something like that for years. It will make so many things so much cleaner.

Actually, according to the last few devlogs, The Release might be only a month or two away. Hopefully for real this time!

Its true, but its also true that some things have been released and some things have been mentioned being added in and it might be good to have these things in mind before its actually released. Sort of a vague plan of how they might be in the game. Creativity is after all what makes mods interesting and fun to play.

The raw modding is easy. But I have to wait for Therapist, Sound/Stonesense and dfhack.

Those entity raws tho. They're really interesting for my personal projects and Freehold.
