I'm beginning to suspect that, like a lot of other text adventures, generic searching isn't really a thing in Tranquility Quest: you can probably look at and search individual things that you find in the world (like rubble, cars, safes whatever), but anything interesting that's just lying around on the ground will probably be described in the room descriptions.

Ah. Well then.

>Ask Beryl about gulls maybe?
If that doesn't work, I'm not really sure how we'd go about explain the situation.
>tell Beryl about gulls, >tell Beryl about church, >Tell Beryl about belongings?
Or maybe just >tell Beryl about problem.

Hopefully one of those works... although who knows if she'd care. :P
Failing that maybe we can go back down and >search cars.

We should probably go with >1 to start with, just in case giving another answer forces us to leave without our stuff or something.
It probably wouldn't, but y'know. That'd make me nervous. :P

What if it forces us to leave without asking questions?

Not sure what you mean.
But anyway, feel free to vote against my idea if you have a better one! :)

Err, I meant what if asking forces us to go get our stuff, and we lose the ability to ask other questions?

Oh. I see.
I doubt it will do either, but personally I think missing out on getting our stuff would be more catastrophic than missing the other questions.

I think it'll be like the last conversation "tree" where we'll go through every option until we get to that last one (which basically screams "end transmission.") So yeah, 1

Searching those cars is a good idea too; if that doesn't yield anything I suppose we'll need to talk to L or K.

Hah hah! BIRDS!

However... For the sake of narrative, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to say thank you to her. I'll let someone else make this decision.

Yeah, might as well. We can always press the other two into helping us deal with the birds, after all.
