Coin be coming from the science lad upon retrieving his artifact! But of course, we bein' pirates, profit comes from plundering. We don't plunder. We don't get coin. Me thinks that since science lad be losing his mind, we could always fence the artifact and other loot to the highest bidder.

((I think the reason for the 'too slow and too fast' thing is how there are several posts from each player for every post from the GM. If it were run in a more conventional RtD format, where everyone posts one action per turn and perhaps a few posts of pure dialogue between the characters, the 'too fast' problem would cease to exist and the 'too slow' problem wouldn't be a thing, as players wouldn't feel left out if they couldn't make a few dozen different un-rolled for actions between each GM turn.
But it seems to be a conscious decision to run it this way, so I'm sure there are some unseen benefits for the current method.))
