I wouldn't worry about it, everyone having different schedules etc is pretty much the point of playing it pbem.
Yeap, don't worry about that, Gimhalos : during weekdays, I can only played between 8:30pm and 11:30pm, french time.
We usually only have 1 turn a day, but that's a good rythm :)

I think there needs to be about five units for them to show up in the scout report. It's pretty safe to assume that any druid/woodsman province will have a few of those dark vines wrecking armies up. I don't think anyone's made a list of province/indie types to watch out for. Off the top of my head, elephants like to pair up with slingers. Can't think of other very low number monstrosities that can ruin an expansion for now.

Well there Woodhenge Druids and Bloodhenge Druids. You have to learn the difference, it could save your life.
All that showed up where those Blowpipe guys and I forgot that their evil brothers can show up rarely.

This may be early, but anyone who agrees to a non aggression pact with me gets a free cupcake, baked by the Pale Lady herself!

Edit: Sigh, I really wish this was an EA or MA game. I just don't like any of the nations. MA Marignon had Better Units and I much preferred their mages.

That said, MA Pythium is my all time favorite. I would have double the provinces I have now if I was playing them.

I've been doing ok with indies so far - the mercs I hired first turn cleared the adjacent throne province without incident (then wiped on the next mundane province :p), and after a couple turns building up his army my prophet's been making steady progress.  I'm sure expert players would have captured more in that time, but there's not been any disastrous results.

Though from what my scouts are telling me, some people are up against significantly more resistance... ~130 units including vine ogres and earth gnomes lead by an earth mother gathered around one throne.

Interesting, some people have told me to give up on this game because I have no water access.
I always saw Ryujin as great addition and not something game deciding. Maybe I'm just too inexperienced to properly judge the situation.

Yours is not optimized for early game, but can be very powerful afterwards.

BTW, marignon, I saw your starting position and yes, that appears to be a nice one for your nation :D

Not optimized is putting it lightly. I hope that you've been recruiting Caelian Seraphs while you still can. Guaranteed 2A is freaking amazing for LA Caelum, but eventually you'll need to start recruiting all of the Elders you can.
