Vlad heads back to the tavern.

Tayeth heads just outside the tavern since Vlad left, then suddenly, all the filth on both her and her clothing falls to the ground around her.

Much better.

Tayeth returns to her seat.

Ok so how do the gnomes view strangers? I don't want to have to run away again.

Vlad sits back down, and takes out his dagger, along with a small cloth. Makariy stares.

"Just cleaning my dagger Makariy, don't call the Watch.

So, Tayeth, how'd you get clean that quickly? I was gone for about a minute."

[Prophet]

"I just told you that I can use magic for that. How do you think I keep clean while we're traveling?"

Tayeth starts staring at Vlad's dagger.

"How would you feel if that dagger of yours could burn people? Well, not an entire person, but at least around the wound."

((I literally just realized that that was an "i" rather than an "l" in Makariy's name.))

[Playergamer]

"I know, but it still seems silly that there's a spell for that.

That would be nice, but... uh, I'd prefer it on my knife, then."

((Clarification: Vlad carries his small stabbing dagger, and a large fighting knife.))

Gnomes are naturally curious and inquisitive, very mechanically minded, think southern goblins without the speciescide complexes and dwarves without the insanity, socks, and blood. They are extremely eccentric however and if they name something, the full name of it will include its entire history and the entire histories of its origin components, the only way to talk to them is to interrupt them as they have a belief that the words will run away from them. There should be no problem. Just don't let them take any samples or disassemble any important objects to see how they work.

"Eh. 'Spells' aren't really a thing. We just give them names and label them as such because easier to say 'spell' than explain that it's a set of instructions on how to make something occur. There are actually multiple ways to go about most things... So no, that's not a spell. Just something I figured out how to do."

"So, what did you leave for?"

"I continue to have no clue what you are saying. As normal, according to the last ten years.

Technically not a lie, but not the whole truth either.

"Long story short, mages are lazy, even when speaking.

And in one minute? For some reason, I doubt that."
