the tunnel leads past a number of cells filled with decaying corpses and ends at a heavy steel door.  Ormem rips it off its hinges. Inside is a single man with a torch. From his eyes, he appears to have been crying.  "Who are you. Where's Athri?" Its Berd and he's surrounded by Breachstones on pedastals.

"What's the nature of the job?"

Alive/Undead: Undead (for the simple reason of not being able to drink anything)
Appearance: Just looking at her, a casual observer would note nothing out of the ordinary (save of course for not being out of the ordinary in a world where everyone looks like nightmare fuel). Getting close however, is a different story. Her body exudes an extremely cold aura to the point of freezing surrounding liquids. Her skin is extremely pale like she's never seen the sun. Her hair is shiny black and shoulder length, and her eyes are a dull blue. Because of her extreme cold, her lips are blue and the tips of her fingers are black with frostbite, though they retain their functionality.  Her right arm appears to have sprouted jagged metal pieces, including a serrated metal disk on her forearm used for defense when needed. Normally seen dressed for cold weather.
Ht: 5'3"
Wt:
History: left home soon after absorbing her breach stone. She's traveled for many years looking for a place she could be accepted.
Powers: A cold aura that begins about ten feet away from her and gets colder with proximity (would also expand as she stayed in one place, though not much farther than twenty feet). Most people can't stay close to her very long without suffering frostbite or hypothermia, and water freezes quickly in her presence. Obviously immune to cold.

A loud sort of quiet then. That merchant who brought you in here is an idiot. He's been on the out and out for some time. Steal his guild membership coin and you get to take his place. he pulls out a gold piece that's had its center removed. There are some etchings around the outside that you can't make out from this angle.

you follow the strand until it reaches the next ritualist. He definitely seems prepared for you. He also doesn't seem surprised by the hulking spiky red knight who comes around the corner. "Do not interfere with the ritual."

Success you have the strength to take the whole body with you (tentacles are awesome) or you could just collect a sample and kick the body back into the water.

Indeed they do, once they get over the horror of Bergman bringing the corpse of the last person they sent down there.  They send him away for now. They want to study this without distractions. He is paid exceedingly well and they say that they'll send a letter of clout to the local merchants saying that his money is good.

Georgia steps forward to take the stone but Berd is suddenly in front of her. "What do you think you are doing?"

The warrior pulls out a greataxe from thin air and brandishes it menacingly at Arkham and Gothil"The ritual will not be impeded.

"Perhaps we should wait and find who's ahead of us, either through divination or deduction?"

"It's Berd and his fools. Who else could it be?" she continues forward her eyes on the prize at the end of the hallway.
