The scout explores other exploitable squares while a colony pod moves towards the mesa.
How much would it cost to make a synth garrison?
30 minerals to complete the first prototype, 20 afterwards.

What way is North? Is it the main map representing North as up? Or is it the base screen's up?

And do you get anymore colonies?
1. North is up :D
2. Normally you do get more colonies. In this game you don't.

An aquatic vector of the Mind Worms native life form, the Isle of the Deep is closely associated with Sea Fungus. Spending their early life underwater, in maturity they surface as a floating shell formed by the secretions of the colony’s individual members. They are often used as a nesting place by Mind Worms and Spore Launchers and can even float large land units much like a troop transport. The transport capacity is determined by the life cycle level: one unit for each level. Like mind worms, they can spontaneously spawn in Unity Pods and Sea Fungus, with no warning.

The seven factions have begun tentatively exploring the surface of the new world, scouts and colony pods crawling across Planet to establish bearings on their alien surroundings. Some have taken to the surroundings with greater confidence than others.

Sorry if this seems like a very general question.  :-\
1. Sometimes units are unable to complete a move, this might be because they've just come off a road, are entering rocky terrain or xenofungus and so they just stay on their square. That's what happened here. The monsoon rainforest is also special in that only global warming, nukes and elevation terraforming can destroy it, though you can cut down normal forests.
2. Supplies are automatically gathered by free workers inside your base, 1 worker can work 1 square for every 1 population in your base.
3. Production is done inside bases and is affected by how many minerals are coming into that base (controlled by how many crawlers/workers you have bringing in the minerals from squares being harvested by your base) and your industry rating (controlled by what faction you started as and social engineering). You can build base facilities when you have the tech that allows it, build units or just stockpile your minerals as energy credits. As of now you're stuck  with just building scout patrols, and the governer's managing that so you could go about without ever having to worry about anything but general production.
