Ah Senator Doe, how nice of you to lecture the Chairman of our Mining Operations, a man who has worked for 30 years in the Industry, on Economics. maybe you can also lecture me on how to lace my shoes? Or would you rather tell our scientists that you ought to teach them how to properly retro-engineer and repair the Eden Substations. Maybe you ought to go down into the Mines and tell our Miners how to properly look for Iron and Copper?

shaking his head in an annoyed fashion the Chairman turns to De Toss

In any case, Senator De Toss, we are currently producing 10 Units of Resources, that barely covers the Eden Project. Not to mention the Offensive against the Dominion your are planning, the equipping of new Regiments, investments into our administrative and scientific infrastructure and so on and so forth. In short Mr. De Toss, we are not adding to our Economic Subsidience if we invest into our Mining Economy.

"You know chairman one has to wonder if you're more interested in that mining company of yours rather than the country as a whole. With the new area under our control we'll have much more space for economic growth as well as new sources of revenue. Then again, a true economist does not attempt to shepherd cats and a true man of opportunity..well you're none of the two.

I digress though, maybe you're right about the research but can we at least help the university repair itself? It's an utter disgrace to our national pride to have the greatest source of education and research operating in lowly conditions.

I cannot however, stop sponsoring my other propositions simply because they are all needed."

Raul looks at the chairman with a determined face.

"And yet you propose us to spend even more of our funds onto projects which do not even see a financial return. As for resources and funds, we have plenty of both for now, and taking the dominion territory to the north can easily provide us with more of both. Experience is no substitute for wisdom Arseni, and nor is age. While both  may aid in obtaining it, there is never a guarantee.

And Raul, as I said before, the damage has already been taken care of. Thus any energy spent on that is wasted. Though I would say they would appreciate the effort.

Now, if you two are done bickering, maybe we can actually start using this session to it's fullest. In light of the increased unemployment, I would like to propose two new pieces of legislation aimed at combating that."

*raul looks displeased*

"Fine but i will push these propositions one day, we need the extra research."

"I can't honestly say i have an opinion or a know how as to how much this mining amendment so please speak more about it and it's intended effects."

"More importantly is this Regional Industry act. Although i do believe individuals should have the power to start their own business, to have the government start small business? Honestly i can't support nationalizing resources at this time there is simply no need i see for this but to provide jobs. The job of creating jobs should be up to the masses to decide what business shall prosper and no one should interfere not the government or large business. Again explain how this would help us, for i see no effect."

Ah Senator you mean you are talking about that piece of land which we do not yet own, which we do not know if it is worth anything and which is propably defended by armed deserters. Did i mention that we propably have to rebuild infrastructure in that area, do widespread prospecting to find proper Resource Claims and then when all this is said and done invest further money to encourage moving and establishing new industries in that Area?

And you are telling me my proposal is bringing no financial return...

Let me tell you gentlemen, the Mining Businesses will bring in an increased Tax Revenue, for one from the Mining Corporations and secondly from the employed citizens and that in a quarter of a year.
While your "visionary plan of annexing Dominions territory will cost us the lives of Tarmavsolians, Thousands of Credits and in the best case scenario we are seeing a return for all those investments in three years soonest. Now don't get me wrong i am NOT opposing pacifying that region i am saying that it has for now a lower priority until we can meet our Resource demands.

I must wonder Mr De Toss what is it with you and nationalizing the economy? Last i looked we awere a Free Market Economy and we were better off for it.
Not only do private investors safe the state money by supporting industries we need anyway but also do they pay taxes. From a purely state owned mine you don't get much tax return.

But i digress Fellow Senators i do not say we have to throw down all the projects and cancel them out for the benefit of the Mining or General Industry, but i am saying that at the moment the Mining and General Industry has priority until we can meet the resource demands and actually finish the projects you want to start without importing from other nations. Because last i looked our Neighbouring Nations were all in no shape to trade...

*Raul has a hearty laugh and then smiles evilly at the chairman*

"Ahhh, little chairman maybe the Bauxite you hit as a child clouded your mind. I actually defended against nationalization. Maybe it's time to step down and let someone more...how do you say, mentally capable take your seat?"

"That region can be used more for than just mining you know? Farming, manufacturing, Super plants to power the country, and anything the creative settlers can think of can happen. Not that you can Chairman can ever truly think of anything, all you can think about is grabbing a  pick, clock in for work, and breath more Bauxite. Now then, may we begin the vote or is there something someone has to say?"

"I do believe there is a significant difference in small and big business. The small in the legislature is referral to the size of the facility, rather than the interest controlling it.

And while nationalising the mines would reduce the tax money we could claim from them, it would increase the amount of material from them immensely, and and as far as I know, we need those resources more than we need money."

Running the numbers we are running 2160 credits into the treasury and expending 1610 credits. With the devastation project complete...let's see that's 500 credits that were not spending. Okay then that means 2660 credits for funding. Our resources stockpile is not in the same state however, were at 60 and are running a deficit of 20 every quarter. Maybe creating small state mining companies isn't a bad idea? They'd also provide jobs correct?

Oh i apologize then in that case, the last bit was directed at Mr.Schwarer. In any case, you(de Toss) shouldn't behave so high and mighty seeing as your understanding of maths seems rudimentary at best. I took the freedom of going over our Treasury again.

We have an income of 2610 per month
expending 500 on the ongoing Eden Project, the provincial towns act costing us 50 Credits per Modern Apartment building, running us at 200 credits if we keep the pace up or 1300 Credits if we want it done within the next weeks. So all in all we are looking at ongoing expenses between 700 and 1800 Credits.
Leaving us between 1910 and 810 Credits depending on how much of a priority you want to make the Provincial Towns Act.

Now Mr. De Toss before you continue to accuse me of dementia, you should let a doctor have a look at YOUR head first, apparently repeated hits on the head aren't exactly good for the thinking after all.

Now i think it was Mr.Schwarer if i recall correctly who first brought up the Provinicial Town Act? I think you agree when i say that we should finish this project as quickly as possible to free up our funds.

Thus i wish to REPEAL the Rich Ground Act, and instead put forth the following Motion for our Treasury expenses in the ongoing Session:

I think that that is a fair proposal on how to expend our Funds without straining the treasury. Mr.Schwarer is right in setting up more Refineries instead of Mines, it is vasstly more economical. Furthermore, giving the Provinicial Towns Act as much priority as possible will free up our funds for other projects again.

*Raul smiles at the Chairman*

"Good to know reverse psychology doesn't just work on trainee recruits. However, The Rich grounds act was a suggestion by you right? Not an actual item voted on? If so wouldn't you simply be revising the Rich grounds act?"

"While we are all enthralled with your arguments about which bills and what spending will move most of the assembly's money into your own pockets, I must remind you that rebels to the north have destroyed a mission of peace. Unlike most of this world's nations, we alone are trying to bring order to the chaos. I demand that this assembly order Tarmavsol's airforce to search from the air for the downed diplomatic flight and clear a path for a rescue mission on the ground. I encourage you all to vote for this bill. Myself, I will be leading the rescue mission on the ground with your support or not. "

Corporal i love your enthusiasm but part of the problem of why we can't use our air power to rescue them is because of bad weather it self. That said i believe using our ground troops, rifleman to be exact, to the rescue immediately is in order if you want to write the bill that'd be good. Visibility will be bad but at least they won't be flown out from the sky because of the gusts of wind. I got pushed down some stairs from my apartment by some hurried nanny or some sorts and sprained my hand on the tumbles. All in favor for a rescue mission by the Military say , AYE?"
