"Outside that door is a squad of 4 fully armed soldiers. They have, by this point, been ordered to arrest you. You walk out that door, you end up face down before you can blink. You don't walk out that door, they take it down with... The squad leader wasn't clear, either a battering ram or plastic. Anyway, how dignified can you look, face down in the lobby?"

He whispers into the headset he's wearing.

"Time to return those favors, boys. I was never here."

"I'll take my chances with the law. I wonder what they'll do when they find out YOU snuck in a gun inside the assembly John."

*Raul leaves and makes for the exit of the building. He wonders how far he can make it before the guards hold him up*

((If guards come ask them to just put on the cuffs and let him walk.}}

"They won't. Goodbye, Raul. You won't make it two feet."

As soon as Raul leaves the room, John crumples up the fake, plastic gun.

"He didn't call my bluff. That was close."

The guards outside, all men who, for one reason or another, all owe John a favor. grab Raul. One of them walks inside to check on John, while the others escort Raul out of the building. He hands him the fake gun.

"Please get this out of the building, Bill."

Raul walks off and has high grade assault riffles lasering him in a lobby.

"I give up."

As the gaurds cuff him and walk him out they comment on the disapointment that fellow milatarist like Raul and John coudn't seem eye to eye. 20% of the assembly would have gone a long way.

"Don't worry gents, i still have a strong will to see through this all with John but keep your eye on the Torri she is without knowing the real enemy and the most dangerous."

He is put in a van and taken back to his house on the outskirts of town for house arrest but is later cleared due to hi connections. A phone rings with his worried mother but he assures he's fine and things will get better.

----------

Raul decides to look for news on the opinion polls on how people felt about the Assembly brawl.

"Interesting..an internal war. A war i never fought and may lose..delicious challenges from hell itself."

Sven re-enters the assembly chamber once Raul is removed, taking a seat back at his former position.

"Now that distraction is removed, I assume we can continue?"

"I move to fine Assemblyman De Toss 10 credits for breaching decorum."

Action:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Additionally, we should enhance penalties for domestic violence. We must protect the weakest of our society from those given too much power by fate. Afterall, if we cannot protect the weakest amongst us, how can we expect to defend out great land? The money we fine De Toss should be placed in a fund to help the victims of domestic violence.

"I... Must say that I am quite shocked by what just happened. I agree to the fine of 10 credits for phisically assaulting a fellow congressman. I also propose to issue a warning to John for menacing Raul with a (fake?) firearm. This is a matter to be handled by security. Speaking of which, security here appears to be dreadfully incompetent. I don't think it would be too difficult to change that for the next meeting."

"So, do we vote that budget or not?"

"Warning received. Although, technically, I just pointed a piece of plastic at the man and started bluffing. I never said I would do anything. Let's vote."

"While we all want to get some justice for Mr. Toss's actions, me especially, he is still a member of this nation and  has a right to trial like any other citizen. I think the courts should handle his sentence, not us since we're a Legislative body, not a Judicial one. Our Supreme Court seems to be the right place to judge acts of violence in the assembly.

So, who would like to submit their budget plan for a vote first?"

"I second this motion." Torri says this rubbing her face.

"In light of today's incidents, I'd also like to propose an act for our protection as an assembly."

*while looking at trending polls and incoming news feed in the house of de toss*

"oh yeah? I'll show you.."

*Raul grabs a phone and calls his old General staff for a favor*

"Gentleman, i want those Guards at the assembly switched out for something more home team oriented. capiche?"

*Raul gets loyal army goons from his service days to replace the incompetent security.*

I object to the notion that we must turn this building into an armed camp just because a member had a temper tantrum. I think we have real issues facing us. I'd like to attach a proposal to immediately spend 75 credits to investigate the cost of repairs on the damaged Eden station in Tarmavsol. However, I believe we are getting ahead of ourselves. I believe that it is important that we elect a leader at once. Not a national executive, of course. Merely a parliamentary leader who can call for votes and decide when something will be passed or acted upon.

Additionally, I must put forward my objections to the monstrous plans that have been forwarded to steal children from poor families and turn them into military slaves. If there is indeed such a problem of unwanted children, then surely we can find a way forward that doesn't turn them into brutes. Perhaps we could allocate a modest sum towards community involvement programs. I personally communicate with some regularity with community organizations and would be happy to assist with anything like this.

Additionally, I think a pressing matter is expansion of our mines. With the recent weather issues it's vital that we have the resources to feed our lands. Would it be possible for Chairman Mikhaelovitsch to look into this matter and report on what the costs might be?

I would like to speak in favor of the "Yet Another Budget Plan." I believe it strikes a fine compromise. I would like to see some more detailed accounting before I vote on a budget proposal however.

January 2123

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

With the previous session ending prematurely due to a small incident, the Assembly convened again later that day to vote. Still highly divided, the assembly did not manage to reach a unified vision for the year's budget, and as such for now everything happens on a project by project basis.

With research into the repair of the Eden Station rapidly progressing, surveyor's have been commissioned to explore the wastes to the North of Tarmavsol. While these lands technically belong to the Northern Dominion, it's grip on these regions has heavily deteriorated due to it's continuing war to the East. Bandits roam the wastes, and what little Dominion forces remain have taken to terrorize the local populace to sustain themselves. An intervention could be justified, and the land could be annexed.

Meanwhile, the strong governement support under the Mineral Wealth act has allowed the Mining Industry to rapidly expand, freeing up new lands and deposits for it to exploit. However, it must be noted that these deposits, while substantial, are not very rich, and that the Tarmavsolian Mining Industry is not known for it's efficiency.

Refugees from the United Federation are crossing the border on mass. They speak of failed harvests, deadly rain and widespread famine. Early estimates suggest the population stream could number as many as hundred of thousand people.
