On that note, I...don't understand the xp part muchly from the handbook. Can someone explain XP/XP pool and how to earn them?

You get XP from hitting/killing things. XP goes into XP pool. When XP pool reaches 100, it is drained to 0 and everyone levels up.

Staff healing gains 5 exp, attacking someone and not killing them gives somewhere from 1-3 exp depending on levels, killing gives 5 unless they're way ahead or way behind (then 10 exp/3 exp respectively), beating a boss gives 30 exp.

To be fair, Tir, Haspen usually doesn't let enemies surrender. XD We've tried diplomacy before in FEF and it doesn't work.

Well the issue is we're worried that the map is going to end this turn anyways due to the sound of horses coming. Better for me to just try and kill Peyer this turn.
