As for the purchases, I think we should focus more on meat, less on berries; maybe sacrifice a couple (or 5, for round-ness) barrels of berries for moar meats. The profit margins should be higher... right?
Shouldn't this be done IC? :P
You'd think that, but Esori realizes he has very little persuasive power towards Dustine, and isn't really willing to discuss strategy in front of nonaffiliated merchants. He also has very little intuition for economics, which is why he's a courier-turned-mercenary instead of a trader.

This is why I wanted Tiruin to game :>

>implying I didn't invite Tiruin to the first NEF, even though she didn't get in

In other words, I wanted to play FEF with Tiruin before it was cool. >:3

An iron halberd (for that extra little bit of attack) or a slim lance (to double-attack speedy enemies) would be nice for Esori, but I wouldn't consider either "necessary"...

So right now we have a little over 1000 gold left. I'm not sure how much we want to buy and how much we want to save. Thoughts?

25% of starting capital is always good to save unless and truly unless you know what you're doing.
We know half of what we're doing, which is just as bad.

...
Hold this debate, IC! Or we're fulfilling the role of the thoughts of the people deciding what to do with trade! :P

This isn't a debate really. This is something that can and should be discussed OoC because currently my character has full control of the gold and theoretically knows what to do with it and such. If it were up to me and me alone which technically it is, I wouldn't buy anything right now. We don't need it, and it's a risk that doesn't need to be taken. That being said. It's nice to get thoughts from other people so that I'm not just being all "Muahaha, I'm the vet, what I say goes" etc.

Err, yes we do. :P
Just to check which prices are good at one area and sell at the next. Theoretically, based on the basic information on [Island] and [probably] low food stores [(though..I'm doubtful given the Island-nature, and that I practically live on an island {well, ok, archipelago} that it lacks food...probably arable land if it is sooo tiny?)], then we could get the best guess by loading on food, preferring the higher priced foods to what is lower priced.

If and unless the economy of the village is low-in which they'd prefer more simple foods and staple goods. Meat is a preferred good. :^

Uh... we already bought bulk goods. This is about buying weapons and such for our group.

Also, it's not an island, it's a mining town on the coast, hit opals big time and everyone flocked there. Too much population growth too quickly=not prepared to feed everyone=food in high demand.

But I only saw we can buy commodity/trade goods there?
If we're buying weapons...
...
That means we can buy new weapons as seen in the handbook (but we still have our starter items, right?) as an "upgrade"?

Check the thread. There's a new list of items up that we can buy. You'll still keep your original weapon but we can alsso buy new ones from there. The issue is we have 1792 gold left. Which isn't a ton and we probably want to save some of that.
