Because because Dany's an archer doesn't mean they can't sleep with a knife.

S/he can totally have a knife. But s/he couldn't kill anyone with it, due to being unable to equip it  :P

Only if they make their own arrows. Instead of buying them. Or just pulling them out of Hammerspace.

I always felt it was really unfair that ranged or healer units in some games didn't have some sort of melee weapon. Even a simple knife for eating, quite common for traveling in most pre-modern societies, could be used. Even something that can only do 1 or 2 damage its still better than nothing. Even 0 with strength added would work.

Fun fact. In some Fire Emblems, staff-users have the ability to counter-attack melee attacks, often doing pitiful damage in the meantime. But they certainly didn't sit down and take it like archers did. :P

And it was always never worth it in those games because it did almost no damage in the best cases, and no damage in all the other ones. Not to mention it takes up staff uses.

Town has giant spider problem.
Antidotes and Vulneraries are 2x cost.
I think the medicine lady is involved with the spider problem somehow.
