Heh. Well, if nothing else I've given you the normal face one so that's better than nothing. :P

And yeah, Hasp, no rush. I'm traveling this afternoon anyways, so I wouldn't be around either way. :P

I'm keeping busy, too; I'm having cookie science day with my sister.
We're performing scientific tests (complete with a lab report) on whether butter, margarine, or shortening makes the best cookies.
Either way we're going to end up with 5 batches of chocolate-chip cookies  :P

Eh decided to make the tiring stuff so now every city on the region map has its simple supply/demand system plus trade good specialties and restrictions, so trading should be actually fun... if someone always dreamed of being a fantasy accountant :P

But hey, NEF2 had time travel so NEF2-2 had to have special little feature too... NEF2-3 prolly gonna have planet-hopping or demon-slaying. Dunno :p

I just noticed, but our team is quite... squishy. No one is really big on defence.

The problem with the poll is it doesn't offer enough information. Trading large quantities of common goods is great... if you have a supply network
Catering to the wealthy works wonderfully... if you have buyers you know.[/rant]

Well, like any good merchant will tell you, the big money is in luxury. Find a market with a noble who's willing to pay top dollar, and you've got yourself a long prosperous career ahead of you.

You're not wrong, but you're also not taking the odds against success into account.
It's a lot harder to fail as an everyday goods merchant. Just ask Wal*mart.

EDIT: Also, merchants with high-priced small goods are easier to rob.

And remember that when war or disaster happens, luxury goods cease to matter, while more "everyday" goods become highly sought-after.

Though we lack context on both accounts :P
A peacetime merchant dwells among jewels and gold-amassing his/her riches in the notions of safety.
A wartime merchant dwells amongst the common people-providing to their needs in peace or in war, tied with them in their gain and loss, yet always looked up to compared to those of other strata.

Exotic goods merchants and manufactured ones are ideas of a complex time. i'm not poking those buttons. xD
