Well, for what it is worth I do think Tiruin is town.  No reason not to.
Same with soldier.

EDIT: Flavour!

As the discussion grew long, the crew got tired.  Accusations, while flying around in large numbers, generally focused on pisskop.

The last accuser, MyOwnWorstEnemy, asked a question: "So, um, what exactly should we do with this scumbag?"

Pisskop objected to this.  "I'm not a scumbag!  I'm a loyal Alarian citizen, damn it!"

"Anyway, I think throwing him out the airlock might be best."

Tiruin, Andrew425, and TheDarkStar nodded.  "Any last words," MyOwnWorstEnemy asked, "Hall scum?"

Pisskop frowned.  "Well, for what it is worth, I do think Tiruin is on our side.  No reason not to.  Same with Soldier."

Pisskop's accusers escorted him to the airlock, and removed him from the ship.  A later search of pisskop's room revealed no sign of Hall loyalty, as well as indicators of strong ties to Prime Minister Ward's party.

After the standard sleep cycle, most of the crew gathered in the mess hall again.   Breakfast was necessary, and the mess hall was a large enough room that it could handle having the whole crew.

The Soldier, the only actual soldier on the ship, was the first to notice that a crew member was missing.  "Alright, where is 4maskwolf?"

Checking 4maskwolf's room revealed his corpse and a mass of wolf mask shards in a pool of blood.  His throat had been stabbed.   Further searching revealed that he had previously worked for the Department of the Environments, and little more.  No evidence that 4maskwolf worked for the Hall Empire could be found.

4maskwolf has been stabbed to death!  4maskwolf was a vanilla townie.

Why me?
I know which one of you did it, and all I have to say is: why me?

You could have killed anyone but yourself and your scumbuddy, but you killed me.

First off, sorry about the lack of posts near the end of day 1. Time got away from me, and I was down with a bit of an illness.

Here's my current list of reads:

Me: town
MOWE: slight lean scum. She arrives 3 hours before day end to throw another vote onto pisskop, having barely interacted with him before that. Before that, her last post was three days earlier, but pre-game claimed lack of time makes this a non-factor.
Tiruin: lean town. Playing solid as ever. Good content in posts, and I feel a sincere intent... for now, at least. She's hard to read.
TDS: scummiest player alive. See below for reasons.
Persus: null. Little activity but warned about this pregame. Need to see a lot more. Was also conveniently forgotten in Tack's one content post, which doesn't help my view of him.
Andrew: leaning town. He put a lot of effort into making a logical attack on pisskop, and he was the first one to seriously vote him. Although it was a mislynch, it feels to me more like a townie who missed than scum.
Tack: leaning scum. Very passive, only popping into the thread to answer questions. At day end, he was voting Tiruin with no question attached based primarily off of a meta-tell, when he's admittedly only seen her in one game.

Tack:
-snip-

Regarding this post specifically, it gives me a bad feeling. It looks just like a nervous inexperienced mafia going down the list of players, noticing it would be suspicious to vote any of them, and then tossing your vote on someone random. Further, I disagree with you saying that only the inexperienced scum would be in the foreground D1. Hell, I think you've got it reversed - I think that the inexperienced scum would be the ones trying to skate by with no effort, and that the better scum would try to blend in by actively pursuing targets. I also like that you handwave your scumbuddy DarkStar out of your vote candidates.

In general, you've been posting very little, and many of your posts include no substance. Let's go over your posts in this game:
One: Your "in" post.
Two: An RVS post, where you ask just one softball question that you never follow up on. Also your only RVS post.
Three: Saying you don't feel like posting.
Four: Your only content post at all, also linked above. "Ah, must vote. Can't vote pisskop or I'll be bandwagoning! Can't vote DarkStar, he's my buddy! I forgot Persus exists! Can't vote maskwolf or Soldier, they're active townies! Can't vote MOWE, because... I dunno! Gotta be Tiruin!"
Five: Banter/wisecracking with 4maskwolf.

As anyone can see, you haven't done much in this game at all. Who are you suspicious of at this point and why?

TheDarkStar:

You are activelurking scum. You have the most posts of anyone alive, but you've done essentially nothing. I won't go over you post by post like with Tack, but here's a "greatest hits" version: [everyone should use ZU's LurkerTracker]
Posts #2-5 are RVS. #6 is vouching for maskwolf.
Post #7 is worth looking at in detail, see below.
Posts #8-13 are all complete fluff.
Post #14 is also dissected below.
Post #15 is answering a question.

Post #7:
Since I didn't do it earlier, I'm going to unvote to make it harder to start a lynch train and because he answered my questions.

pkop, you haven't asked many questions and you voted for Andrew randomly (except for the fact that there was a vote on him). It's true that you are new, but you're acting scummy.

PPE: Heh, you might want to edit the votecount now.

First off, why a FoS instead of a vote here? If he was scummy to you, why not vote him? Further, you don't ask any questions of your own, just letting other people like Andrew and Tiruin do the hard work.

Post #14 (lucky multiples of seven, huh?):
4maskwolf: I didn't vote because I wasn't sure who seemed scummy. Over writing this post, I went over the day.

Tack: What's your opinion on the Andrew/pisskop dialog? I'll answer afterwards.
I think most good mafia won't be big talkers day 1, and I agree with Andrew there.
That being said, it's easy to get drawn into a dialogue, so that doesn't absolve him, especially if he's not particularly experienced.

If I were to choose between voting Andrew or voting Pisskop, I'd choose neither. They've got less chances of being powerplay scum than one of the background people, so I'd rather take the 3/11 chance and vote someone who isn't in the forefront battle. One might still be scum, but if so, they'd need to be quite inexperienced.
That, to me would be either MyOwnWorstEnemy or Tiruin at this point. 4maskwolf was busy in the early day, and so far The Soldier and TehDarkStah have been pretty busy jumping in the diologue.
Seeing as in all of the games I've seen Tiruin play- namely, one: She doesn't usually play it this cool, I'll throw my vote there and see if it goes to good use.
Ergo, therefore: Tiruin

That's not that good of a reason to vote, especially since Tiruin has been mostly inactive in other threads over the last couple days, too. I think you're just trying to distract votes from your scumbuddy, Tack.

Transparent distancing.
.....
Andrew: Not that much has happened today, but here are my reads (what alignment I think people are)

MOWE: Unless pkop's scumbuddy, probably town because of being the first to extend the day.
Tiruin: Has talked a lot with pkop and Soldier. Extended, but null read due to the extend being superfluous.
4maskwolf: Town lean because scumhunting.
TheDarkStar: Obviously, I'm town.
Persus: Null read because he has 2 or 3 short posts.
Andrew: Slight scum lean because of some ambiguously-worded posts. He contributes, but hasn't scumhunted.
Soldier: Town lean due to activity and questions. The superfluous extend is unreadable, just like Tiruin's.
Tack: Slight scum lean for an unbacked and meta-based decision on who's scum. Possibly trying to stop a lynch vote on someone else, but the vote on Tiruin would make no sense in that case. I want to hear more from him about his most recent post.
pkop: Reading his posts makes him seem scummy to me, but he hasn't said too much that is outright scummy and he is about as scummy as Andrew. He responds with questions that don't encourage discussion and is focusing to a large extend on getting Andrew lynched, so he's either scum trying to lead a mislynch or a townie who is focusing in on someone while scumhunting. We don't currently have many better reads, so he gets my vote. Also, note that he and Andrew are almost certainly not both scum.

Several things wrong here. First, I'm going to have to disagree about extending being a towntell. It's something that players of any alignment should do, as a simple courtesy. Winning as scum because you opposed an extension or something would be horribly low, and I would hope no one here would stoop to that. Besides, scum would have a perfectly fine reason to extend if their buddy is currently the vote leader by a small margin.

Secondly, where are Andrew's ambiguously-worded posts? If he 'hasn't scumhunted,' then what was that whole debate with pisskop that was the main focus of D1?

Your Tack read is more distancing.

Finally, your pisskop read. If you didn't have any reads better than 'slight scum,' why not ask real questions and get some? Where are these questions that don't encourage discussion? Why did they and his tunneling cause him to deserve your vote over Tack or Andrew? That bit on the end looks like an attempt to set up a chainlynch using a fallacy. Finally, there's the fact that you're jumping on his easy bandwagon with no good reasons, near the end of the day. If you're not scum, I'll be very surprised.

Everyone else: What are your opinions of Tack and TheDarkStar? If you think someone is scummier than they are, say who and why you think so.

I don't really understand Tack's voting of Tiruin but it was day one and he wasn't very active so I'm not sure how to read into that.

As for TheDarkStar the points you make seem to be valid.

TheDarkStar: Do you think it's odd that the only two people to be voting you are dead now?

Tiruin: Why is it that everyone thinks you're town? Don't you think that's a bit odd?

The Soldier began with an announcement.  It was rather long.
"... and that is why I believe TheDarkStar and Tack are scum.  If the former is not scum, I'll be very surprised.  Any questions?  Any responses to my questions, Tack, DarkStar?"

The rest of the crew stood dumbfounded for a while.  Eventually, Tack responded, "Meh.  I'm going to be attempting to hunt scum."

Breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, not enough coffee) was soon served.

The bacon was overcooked and had too much salt.  However, it was still bacon.  The eggs lacked much flavour.  Such a lack of flavour is generally not popular.  The hashbrowns were mediocre.  The coffee was weak.

Overall, breakfast was above average for the voyage.

In regards to the ones you're actually asking about: It's not that odd, considering that pkop and me were voting for each other. 4maskwolf also died, but there are lots of reasons to kill him.

The Soldier: Here's my response to your post.

First, something that's not mine but is really bugging me.

Just for comparison, here's the relevant part of the original post:
If I were to choose between voting Andrew or voting Pisskop, I'd choose neither. They've got less chances of being powerplay scum than one of the background people, so I'd rather take the 3/11 chance and vote someone who isn't in the forefront battle. Ergo, therefore: Tiruin

Note the massive differences in tone and ideas expressed. While you've raised good points earlier, this one seems like a misrepresentation designed to make someone seem scummy.

In regards to me: You call my vote that includes the extension "fluff". I'd count that as an action.

First off, why a FoS instead of a vote here? If he was scummy to you, why not vote him? Further, you don't ask any questions of your own, just letting other people like Andrew and Tiruin do the hard work.

pkop was new and his actions were partially attributable to being new. There was also an implied question (although I probably should have just asked it) - "What is the explaination for your actions?"

Post #14 (lucky multiples of seven, huh?):
4maskwolf: I didn't vote because I wasn't sure who seemed scummy. Over writing this post, I went over the day.

MOWE: Unless pkop's scumbuddy, probably town because of being the first to extend the day.

[/quote]

Extending isn't a towntell, but extending is more of a towntell than a scumtell. Your argument is also odd - scum can and have done things like refusing to extend to win.

Secondly, where are Andrew's ambiguously-worded posts? If he 'hasn't scumhunted,' then what was that whole debate with pisskop that was the main focus of D1?

He talked with pkop, yes. Ask questions that got anywhere? Not really. Here's a sample:

I had intentions pending your answer.  'No, I wouldn't' Doesnt do a lot for me either.  Id hardly call it a popular move yet, either, but your response feels like you are insinuating it is.  Discrediting the wagon at L-3.

1) Why would you say it is a pressure vote?  That usually eliminates not of the pressure.
2) Do you have any potential associations worked out yet?
3) What do you think of the day's progress and flow?
4) If you had a dayvig shot right now, would you use it?  on who and why?  Does lurking play into it?

I pay attention to people's inconsistencies in their statements. When you're asked why you're still voting for me you say you have no reason to change and then immediately do so. That to me is a good enough reason to put some pressure on you.

1. I said it because I already got what I wanted out of it. Your voting for me looks like you were waiting for the Soldier to cast the first vote so you could vote me without having to do any of the leg work.
2. It's highly unlikely but right now the only association I've worked out is you and the Soldier. I say it's unlikely because I've yet to see the two most active people be scum, then again it's been a while since I've played.
3. I really wish the other players would jump in on this argument of ours. If we could get a few more opinions thrown into the ring we'd be able to get a better picture of who the scum really are.
4. No I wouldn't. One of the best ways to find scum is to look at people's vote. If I used it I'd likely hit a town member and that would give us one less chance of piecing together this puzzle.
-snip-

Here, he's answering questions. He doesn't do that much else.

Your Tack read is more distancing.

So, anything that I say about Tack is a scumtell? Saying that he's town makes him my scumbuddy and saying that he's scum or scummy also makes him my scumbuddy? I can't see that as just trying to get information about someone.

I wasn't active much Day 1 due to distraction and real life. Also, there were several people with reasons that they were scummy, so I decided to pick one. We needed the information.

I have also explained my last sentence in that post a lot. For the last time, I did not say that one is scum and one is not. I said that both of them are not scum (so it could be town/scum, scum/town, or (as seems likely now) town/town).
