Day 1

Unfortunately, "should be" does not mean "will be."  The crew had gathered in the mess for lunch, when a transmission came in.  The Alarian intelligence forces had gathered alarming information: two among the crew were Hall's spies, likely intending to intercept the letter.  Actually finding the Hall-loving scum was left to the rest of the Ward's crew, of course.

Now, the crew must find and eliminate the spies, and save the letter.  The fate of Alaria depends on seven loyal citizens.

I've actually been a vanilla townie in all the games I remember. I would love to have some sort of investigative role like Cop or Tracker, since their ability to catch scum is unparalleled. Vig seems too risky without having a ton of reasons to suspect someone, and doctor just doesn't appeal to me.

If you were Jailkeeper, would you be more inclined to use your power as a block on likely scum or as a protect on a likely target?

How did those forums tend to start D1? Are you familiar with RVS?

I would be more inclined try to protect a target unless I had a good reason.

How did those forums tend to start D1? Are you familiar with RVS?

On day one, most of the games typically start with a mixture of RQS/RVS, and either one person ends up halfway to hammer or the town tended to turn upon each other.  In the shorter games I personally found it easier to catch the mafia, because the line between anti-town interest and good intention was easier to spot.
In all cases  it seemed there was some joke and poke amoung the more active players.  In the beginning its a theory, but by the end of the day I typically have a much better idea of who I think is scum.

It depends entirely on the skill of the scum. Good scum players talk to each other in normal chat except when they need to keep something secret (and then they use scumchat).
