The councilor had nothing to do with that.
They can't make more warriors without the queen. But I'm certain that the counselor is going to talk Fal into being his pet.
"I re-engineered the machine to make 'Fal'. I wanted to see what it could do. What I could do. All these accidents, you think they really were coincidences? The crash? The 'fanatic' bandits? The beast finding the collar and killing the only capable fighters you had?" The councilor laughs.
"When I made the collar, I made it inject hormones into the beast to make it more aggressive and unnerved. I also spread lies within the warriors to sow discord and give a reason for 'Fal' to target them." He stops talking and sees you looking for help from the chainborn. "Let me explain. The overseer was no accident either. I made it obedient to me, and the chainborn are obedient to it. They're mine now."
He manipulated his race. Re-engineered the machine to make Fal for himself. Created a collar to make him more aggressive and god knows how much bigger/strong he'll get by naturality. An he had something to do with the bandits.
Our hero blew his arm off and escaped with the Queens Gene code. Not only do we have to re-engineer the machine back to get our only mother {remember are parents were long gone} but we need to do it in a way that the councilor isn't aware.
Maybe he'll Re-engineer the machine again to make more chairborne/warriors in which we'll spy to find out when he does that and take crash site back.
uhm they dont need Fal they can make more Fals which will follow the Chancellor...remember the bandits? yeah? the production process of fal didn't involve us at all.
Wait for the inveitable butchery of the Lords Men, then request an audience with the lord. Explain to him that the Corpse Men cannot be defeated by mortal means. Explain next to him that you were witness to their politics. Tell him about the Councillor and how he killed the queen which wanted to actually just establish contact with humans, but how her orders were subverted and her servants turned against her. Basically make the Councillor into the worst villain possible and show off the former Queen as a saint. If he bites and believes the story explain to him that you possess knowledge about how to revive the Queen and how to sue her against the Councillor. If he is willing to go that way, tell him that you need a Prisoner (preferably someone who is going to be executed anyway). If he isn't tell him that it is just knowledge you have been given by her and that you just offered your advice. In either case do not reveal under any circumstance that we have the queens DNA seed.
Addendum: While we wait for the inevitable butchery of the Knight and his men, try and learn reading and writing in your freetime.
On a side note, the COuncillor propably doesn't need a queen to produce more queens. Among ants the role of an ant is decided by which hormones and which amounts of nutrients are given to the larva. In other words he is propably be able to produce some queens if there are eggs and a stash of hormones around.
True we can do this but that means no training montage where we become a trusted Knight to the lord...whatever works though right?
+1 but also remember that he Re-Engineered that machine, he most likely knows how it works and is the only one who knows how to use it.
EDIT: Nevermind all we actually need is to inject the Queen's DNA into a human and make said human eat alot.
Or a REALLY large creature like a SUPER fat bear or whale. idk this could get tricky.
