We could try to steal some food. I think we should keep Philip i like the thought of be a nice humanoid xenomorph.

So we're terrifying looking right? Can you describe the queen and the other castes a bit more? I'm seriously hooked by this game, it's pretty cool.

See if Phillip can help us identify and cultivate plants as well as show us where to find fruit. Take extra care not to let him run off. Find out how close his village is and determine the likelihood we are to be discovered by wandering villagers.

Create rudimentary traps. Enlist Phillip's help in trapping small game. Have Phillip and either some chainborn, warriors or ourself (whichever would be most suited) try their hand at fishing.

Have chainborn focus on finishing birthing chamber.

Build better mining tools, armor for warriors. Work on birthing chambers. Stealth the shelter, make it stronger. Scouts search more for ship and surrounding area. Build better weapons. Keep bonding with Philip.

Have a warrior run down the kid who pushed the small one in here, bring the brat back here, restrain and gag him, and give the smaller one the knife.

Don't harm the small child, make sure it gets cooked, non human meat and edible plant matter. Attempt to learn it's language and attempt to teach it ours, try to figure out what the smaller one wants to do with the larger kid.

Attempt to befriend small child.

Continue mining.

Continue building shelter and try making it a bit more stealthy.

See if we can use part of the mine for storage.

Give birth, we can use anything right now.

Repair the Birthing chamber more.

Gather more food.

Don't let the small kid leave, but let it do whatever in the shelter and mine provided it doesn't start shouting or damaging anything important. Have a warrior stay within a few feet of it to make sure it doesn't make a break for it.

Attempt to learn gender of smaller kid. (We are aliens, how would we know it's a he right off the bat?)

Make smaller kid our pet. Later on maybe make him a collar or something.

+1. But child/cultist not pet.
+1 if the older kid is not killed. He could be used as a slave, or we should give the younger kid the option of killing him

Spoiler: The Overseer (click to show/hide)

Yeah, had to use pictures from deviantart. If my scanner worked I'd draw my own, but for now eh. I claim no credit for any of these.

So yeah, you're basically undead-looking aliens. A wonder Phillip isn't afraid of you.

You build better mining tools for the chainborn to start mining. You fashion some pretty sturdy ones out of the scrap and stone. You make armor as well, which turns out okay. You continue work with the birthing chamber and now it is pretty much fully functional. You can now select specific castes, except for special ones like overseer, nurse, new queens, etc. You start making the shelter more stealthed, and now it is below-average, but better than last time. When you attempt to reinforce the shelter though, it breaks, reducing it to poor quality. You send more scouts for the ship but they still cannot find it. Some hunters caught sight of them, but your warriors slip out of sight in time.

Philip tells you roughly where the village is. The scouts report of some small farmhouses on the outskirts of the forest. After describing it to Philip, he says it's the same one. For protection, you have your councilor create some weapons. Councilors have some of the best problem solving skills and technical knowledge out of all the castes, and he creates some fine weapons. Some basic rohks made of scrap which he attaches to the new armor, and some spears and slings.

You decide to bond some more with Philip. At first he only talks stoically, responding only when spoken to. Later on he gets more and more friendly. He regales you with the stories of heroes and of the war. Of how Devon and he were close, but for some reason Devon grew cold. Since you are the only one who speaks his language, you're the only one he speaks to. You ask him if he can identify the plants and fruits. Unfortunately he doesn't spend a lot of time in the forest so he doesn't know. His village is somewhat close, and it takes around an hour or two to get there.

You get your councilor to build some traps. They are pretty good, if not basic. You have Philip try to trap some animals. He catches a rabbit and some sparrows. Most of the other traps have not been sprung yet. You also let him try fishing, but it isn't as successful. Meanwhile, the new chainborn clutch has matured, but the overseer will still need about another month.

Year 1, May
You give the mining tools to your chainborn to continue mining. They haven't found much ore yet, but they've deepened the mine and gathered some more stone. You also try to fix the damage done to your shelter. You get some work done, but not much, but at least you've reclaimed some of what you lost.

You fix the growing bay, deciding to grow some food. It gets to working condition, and you get to work planting the seeds you retained from the crash. Vorplus seeds can be grown to create vorplus, a nutritious plant that can feed a large colony for weeks. They take around a season to grow, but will yield more seeds and plenty of food. You decide to gather more food from the forest in the meantime. The traps gather some more hares and some birds and foxes. Fishing still proves fruitless. Hunting is just as uneventful. However, Philip gathers plenty of berries and mushrooms and other plants.

You have some trees cut down. You get plenty of wood. Around three to four large logs. Meanwhile, the overseer is fully grown. He can now oversee the chainborn and increase efficiency. Unfortunately Philip has caught a cold. He spends most of his time lying down and resting.

Have phillip drink continuis amount of fluids, that's one of the best home cures for this kind of stuff.

Fix more of the shelter, tell the overseer to oversee our chainborn deepen the mines some more, and grow more food.
