And Marie will totally dopeslape Dany if he starts going too far with it. Especially if he's supposed to be pleading guilty.
Anyways!
"Mr...Vulpes, was it? Your opening statement?"
"Ahem. Yes, well.. Some of you may already be familiar with the incubus orphan known as Dany Jaeger. Since he's arrived here, there have been countless accusations of theft and fraud leveled against him. In addition, we have several times witnessed him running from authorities in a legal jargon babble fashion."
"Excuse me, but what does legal jargon babble mean? My ears aren't as good as they used to be..."
"It more or less they had reasonably cause to believe the person was attempting to escape them."
"Young folks these days are so helpful! Anyways, carry on?"
The man in red is briefly amused at this interlude.
"Very well. The accusations leveled against Dany Jaeger, along with the testimony of a Quarian Vanguard and several other officers, allowed us to obtain a warrant for an arrest and authorize a full investigation into his activities, a duty excellently carried out by Contract Investigator Miranda Irving." He gestures to Miranda and her evidence. "We'll save what happened when he was arrested for later. Let's start with the more serious charges. Irving?"
She nods and begins laying out the evidence. "April 15, 7:30 AM. The Blackadder Jewel , a unique UV-luminescent crystal, was found missin' from its place in the Winthorpe Museum..."
There's a lot to go through here. What's more telling is that Miranda has gathered basically every piece of evidence that exists, regardless of who it incriminates or protects. And she's clearly worked very hard to do so. Given her thoroughness, it doesn't take long for the jury to send in a statement on each individual charge.
As for the overall verdicts: well, Dany did some of them, yeah, but others he definitely didn't do.
