What? That was certainly a development, seems these 'gods' of theirs aren't entirely alike to the deities then... if they actually changed the human psyche directly... if any deity were to attempt that, the others would likely negate that action or so the theory goes...
"Mortals didn't have free will? Isn't free will just a consequence of evolution?"

"Well, they always had free will. Which is harder to change than it is to create Angels that revere one as a god and only occasionally go against the god's will."

[Empiricist]

"Then what was that about giving people free will?"
Yuri's gaze remains fixated to outside the window. Hmm, there were neither daemons nor constructs visible, a - for lack of a better term at present - disturbing sight as any, seems that there aren't many traces of normality here, perhaps there is little choice but to cross verify this information later.

"I never said that free will was given after creation. Only that it was given."

[Empiricist]

"Creation. Implying organisms were created. Why were they created?"

"I never said in our current form. Just that we were created. We did evolve."

[Empiricist]

"Why were you created? As opposed to say, occurring by chance out of self-replicating chemicals that formed some time after the planet formed."

"I know I was either created or have amnesia as I just appeared in a field and went into a cave and came out with a necromancer who I have now banged twice and both times have had her skull comment on it."

[Empiricist]

"Is that really what you want to be saying to random strangers? Wait, necromancer? Would you happen to know where they are?"
Seems that her patience did pay off, if there is indeed a necromancer here, that would provide a means to contact other who are not stranded in this odd realm in addition to providing an indication as to whether the Border was present...

Kyle points to Lizzie.
"I figured if you didn't care about the tentacles you wouldn't care about my sex life."

[Empiricist]

"Right now, I'm not sober enough to care. If I did, I probably would have had a mental breakdown by now from everything that is strange or wrong about this world."
Quickly looking up and down Lizzie, taking into her account her current attire and appearance, Yuri once again felt the sinking pangs of disappointment.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that either she's a rather eccentric necromancer, or that we have completely different ideas of what a necromancer is."

"Probably. Alcohol is in the locked cupboard. Key is in the spice rack."

[Empiricist]

"No, I think I'd rather not overstay my welcome."
And with that, Yuri promptly exits the penthouse via elevator.

Kyle shrugs and yells to her on the way out.
"Oh! Someone is hunting a dragon! You look like you want something to do!"

[Empiricist]

"Assuming that it's a large construct that amounts to a flying fortress, no. Assuming that it's a large, fire breathing lizard, I'd rather just let someone else do it."
