"Sounds like a rough life." Andon says as he drinks from his flask.

 "It was."

"I wonder if Eldon is alright..." Luke muttered to himself.

"Probably not the right time to see him though, that girl will probably try to kill me." Luke did not have any idea how to apologise.

"How did you cope?"

[PrivateNomad]

 "Joined the military to get revenge. And you saw where that led to."

He nods.
"I know the feeling."

 "Yeah."

Luke cuddled up all the courage he could, and he headed towards Lizzie's home. He knew that he would not be forgiven, and he knew that it was all his fault, and he knew that there was a possibility of his death. He disarmed his pen, and took out the cartilage containing the magic energy and put it in his pocket, thus removing the possibility for him to attack.

"If you do someone wrong, don't drag on your apologies. You will never be able to apologise if you do that." His pastor's advice ran through his head.

He went upto the door, and he stood there for 10 minutes, not having the courage to knock, and was trying to gather his thoughts.

"They must need all the hands they can get, to hire young men and women like you.

 "And even then, we still couldn't win."
Lizzie sighs and opens the door.

Luke stands there idly, calculating what to say, then with sudden realisation, he slaps himself hard on the face.

"I'm sorry Lizzie. Everything, from making my pen touch your face, winding you up, it was all so I can collect data that could make myself and mankind stronger. I..I... I was a douchebag from the moment my parents abandoned me. I was twisted. It's cruel world out there! I felt that I needed knowledge and data. But a person I met told me not to live like that. He told me to live kind, without fighting. So I didn't. But, when I saw you, and felt your strong presence, I felt like fighting you. I was afraid that if I didn't collect data, I would be left behind and I would be weak and useless again, as I was to my parents. Now I am here, calculating what to say. I am the worst. I apologise. You can curse me, hit me, I will not retalliate and I am not armed, but accept my sincere apology.please."

Luke's voice was dark, and shakey. He was in state of self hatred, as he always was been since the day his parents abandoned him, which made his perceptions of the world twisted in a sense.

After he said all that, he bows, with his hands on his side.

 "Apologies accepted. Go lay down and I'll cook dinner." she says before walking back inside.
