Only good one that is realistic is Sim Ant and that was made decades ago lol.

A mod to turn dwarf fortress into an ant-game would be cool and would work. Have different species and stuff. DF is best game for it for a mod.

Windows 3.11 happens to run pretty well through DosBox on win7 for any of those looking to get their SimAnt copies going. Just turn off the sound in whatever you're playing because it can glitch out. You can probably find a copy on the web easily (it's not even a 10mb download).

A sandbox ant game would be awesome. Not Sim ant, that is as old as DOS lol. And game is too easy and map is a lame house.

Empire of the ants was linear and had terrible level design.

A good ant game would let you choose a house (city) or house (country side) wilderness (mountains/forest/desert etc)

Each area having pros/con's.

Able to spread colony in same game. No "levels" or scenarios. It be awesome to play it sorta like a total war game.

But being able to dig tunnels. Cause an ant game with no digging defeats the purpose of an ant game.

Play more than generic badly named ants. There are tons of good ants to choose. Play as termites/wasps/bees. Termites being terrible at offense, but amazing defence and better construction than ants.

Pretty sure I will be dead before anything like that is made.

Ven, you have yet to hear of army ants, I assume (is it army ants?)

They don't dig. They find a hole and make the rest of the nest out of themselves. They're literally the walls and tunnels of the colony.

I know of them. There are also slave making ants that don't dig or take care of their brood. They use the captured ants to do the work. Also some that live in acorns and stems of plants. Lots of kinds. Most live in the ground or wood.

BTW if you hire someone to spray ants in real life that is a con by pest control. Spraying ants only kills the surface ants. It makes queen(s) go into overdrive mode and produce more ants. Making you hire pest control more. Pest control knows this, but they would lose business dealing with your problem permanently.

Almost beat it a few times, even when I was in my single-digit days. Pretty fun puzzle game.
