Ranged weapon traps?
« on: April 12, 2014, 05:06:14 pm »

Can I make a crossbow corridor so if an enemy comes in the crossbows automatically fire? The weapon traps I think only work point-blank, what about ranged ones?

Could you perhaps lock a vampire dwarf in a ballista room and feed him ammo and offerings instead? Maybe that could work.

You can't make automatic ranged weapon traps _except_ ones based on minecarts.
You can make siege engines (for civilians) and fortifications (for XBow militia) for dwarf-powered ones.

XBows are the only way that can reliably tell friend from foe (catapults are second, but can be dangerous).
