I just don't understand this game. I have no problem keeping with the tempo, but it seems like every eight steps or so, I miss a beat. Every time this happens, there's little bars on the side of my heart, and they disappear. Either the tutorial doesn't go over this or I missed it.

Edit: Okay... I understand it now. The bars are the coin multiplier, and if you're only looking at the heart indicator, you'll lose. You have to actually jump in time with the rhythm of the song which changes in-song.

This is so awesome.

Keep an eye out for the rhythm shrine. It's the one with the empty circular pillar, which I think personifies a drum, but I'm not sure. If you tag it, you'll drop to the next floor, every eighth beat will actually be gone, and you'll die instantly if you miss a beat.

Stuck on world 3...

Honestly it's FIND A GOOD WEAPON WITHIN 30 STEPS OR DIE BY HORDES OF MONSTERS.

I get the same feeling in World 3 as well. I've been trying to convince my brother to play with me so we stand a better chance. :P (Though I did manage to get my dad to play with me for a few hours earlier, as un-gamerlike as he is). This game is awesome. :))

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

I just walked on a trap and got insta-teleported into a multi-boss arena.

This is almost as evil as crawl.

Just beat world 3 with half a heart left. Got lucky getting the chess boss, and I got a lot of diamonds from it, too.

I agree on how world 3 is substantially harder then the previous ones.

Speaking of substantially harder, does anyone else think that Death Metal is the hardest boss by far, especially on World 3?

Zone 3 was actually... ridiculously easy by the time I got there. I had plate armor, an obsidian spear, and a drum (for the goblins) by that time. By sheer chance, I had managed to get a transmuter to make me winged boots on Zone 2 Level 3, so I was all set for the floor hazards and everything. Found a potion in Zone 2 also, just in case. Got lucky with an early Shrine of Thorns to get a glass crossbow which made short work of most things in zone 1 until I found something more durable. Zone 3 boss, King Conga wasn't too bad. Plate Armor + Helm meant that I usually took only a half-heart's worth of damage. It was more worrying to make sure my obsidian rapier was properly charged.

Actually, I usually have more trouble with King Conga. I just get swarmed too easily and always miss those last two beats.

EDIT: Whoops, I didn't get a glass crossbow. Must've been another run. I got a blood longsword. Still got me past the majority of Zone 1.
