JEBEDIAH KERMAN'S MISSION LOG

The Umbram Malleum, a spacecraft designed to go to Minmus and back.

As I started lifting off, some engineers came running our of the vehicle assembly building yelling about how I "forgot the solar panels". Oooh, no solar panels! Big deal. Who needs electricity anyway?

After we got that taken care of, we achieved liftoff for real this time, and with some standard gravity turning, we reached a good orbit around Kerbin.

I got distracted during the maneuver that we executed to get out to Minmus, and I... kind of forgot to take any pictures. Sorry! By the time I finally remembered, we were already on the surface of the moon.

While I was moonwalking, the gravity was so low that I felt like I was a superhero! It was a lot of fun, but eventually I had to get back into the module and lift off. On the way back to Kerbin, guess what we ran into?

The Mun!

After a quick conversation with the engineers back home, they assured us that I had plenty of Δv to stop by there quickly before going home. Once we landed, I once again left my command seat, and bounced around a bit. It was a lot of fun, and the increased gravity actually made it a lot easier to control my jetpack.

When it was time to go home, I checked the fuel gauge, and to my surprise, I had used up THREE FREAKING THOUSAND ΔV in that landing. When I radioed home, the physicists told me that they had forgotten to take into account the fact that I was going almost twice as fast as a standard Mun approach should have been. Even though they tried to make me feel like it wasn't my fault, I know that my substandard piloting skill was also a big part of the problem.

After transmitting the data back home, I decided that I might as well try to go back, even if success was unlikely. I got the rocket back into the sky, and attempted to get into a 3 km orbit. It didn't work.

I attempted to eject from the capsule and use my jetpack to slow myself down, despite the futility of such an attempt. Sadly, I was facing the other direction when the shuttle hit the ground and exploded; I only noticed because of the sudden lag shockwave. I looked over my shoulder, and the ground was rushing towards me at an incredible speed.

When I hit the ground, I was surprised to find myself not dead- I turned into some sort of dust cloud. With a bit of effort, I started making my way towards Kerbin. Turns out protoplasm is slower than rocket ships. I'll get back to you some day, Kerbin!

-----------------
We lost contact with Jebediah 54 seconds after he left the pod on EVA. After sadly logging the final statistics of the flight, we left the command room with a deep sense of failure.

None of us felt up to researching, so we left the R&D building empty. The science that Jeb collected will be put to use at some later date.
-----------------

Well that was unfortunate. Didn't even get a picture of the explosion! Sorry 'bout that. But, on the upside, at least Jebediah will respawn. He will return to his home eventually! (Respawn is set to True, right?)

I still can't believe I used 3000 Δv in a Mun landing. I think I probably messed up those calculations somewhere.

I selected yes to the poll because "I don't give a shit" just seemed impolite.
What do you mean by giving people titles?
Also, don't close the poll, they break after closing!

I see what you did there shadow hammer
Bad luck. A rescue mission would have been fun, but since it's Jebediah he'll be back soon.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

And I am going! Will take a tad, and will probably be my first try editing videos, and will probably be lackluster, but hey.

I can't seem to get it either, I think firefox is blocking it or maybe it's broken.
Edit: NVM I got it after about 6 attempts.
I'll upload it here just in case somewhere other than mediafire is better for you.

The list starts over when we reach the end of it, so you don't have to sign up again.

You are already dead.
What do you mean "Already dead?" BFEL launched the station core, baremy survived didn't he?

It probably only shows that for me because that's my file....
