Kyle nods.

Maja nods back, and then heads outside. She flies over to the hospital to see if Altrius is awake yet.

Kyle's phone rings.

Kyle picks up.

"Get to the training room."

"Got ya."
Kyle gets up and heads out.

Mr. Knuckles is standing there. Dex, Gualsa, and AMASCU are standing by him.
 "Good, you all are here. There's a fight going out of hand in the Vice Bar, with magic. Go stop it."

He steps easily from stone to stone across the lake that forms the bulk of the garden, small pedestals perhaps a foot and a half across spaced that same distance apart from one another creating a path over the water. He could likely just as easily walk on the water itself, or swim effortlessly, but such would be impolite amongst company.

"Tell me of yourself, Miss Tia, if you would. I have heard much, but I know not what is true. What convinced you to leave the Court, for example? It is clear you have skill with such politics as might be required. Yet you live among mortals. It makes many curious, you know. The rumors are almost certainly false, but there are so many, it is hard to tell what is true and what is gossip."

"The City of Madness is the largest and most populated city in the world--as such, it is the center of both human and monster activity. I was sent there as a diplomat for my kingdom," she calmly says.

Kyle shrugs.
"Okay. Anything else sir?"

Mr. Knuckles shakes his head.

The man laughs at this. Not cruelly, but simply as if at an unseen joke that only he understood. It is not a harsh laugh, but it is certainly not gentle, either; composed yet firm, like everything about the man seems to turning out.

"How fitting, then, that Her Grace should ask you to visit. You stay in that manse, do you not? Why do you not stay with one of your family's enclaves in the city? I know they must have some."

"Because I wish to be around my friends, of course."

"It doesn't bother you that they're mortal? That they will grow old and die before your eyes? It is not pleasant, I assure you."

He stops to gaze at a peculiar tree, growing straight from the bottom of the lake, slender and white-barked, the branches twisted into a shape that cannot be made out from this angle. It's still quite beautiful, even bare of leaves; the ones it may have had float gently on the surface of the water around the tree.

Tia just shrugs.
 "Some of them are immortal.. as for the rest.. I.. I guess so."
