Keith shrugs and keeps eating.

Kyle looks around quickly.

"If you'd like, I'll try to arrange an arena fight and talk to him about it.

I COULD douse him with love potion, but I doubt he'd like that. And I don't much want to do that either. I'm immortal, not immune to pain. Or suicidal."

"Then hurry up and do it already. Before I do punch his smug face in."

Magnus laughs.
 "It is quite alright--I have seen her kind of draconic before. I am sure that in tr-" he says before something unexpected occurs--suddenly, all the lights in the mansion go out. The guests look around in a panic.

Magnus conjures a ball of lightning in his hand to provide some light, looking around.

Maja doesn't really care, having excellent eyesight in the dark thanks to her draconic blood. So she just angrily strides to the food tables to stuff her face some more.

Altrius still leaves. He is tired and has no desire to participate in someone else's problem.


Soarla and Ryaku are staying at the party. Ryaku is also providing lighting by letting Lightning pulse through her body.

Yukari's shades, surprise surprise, aren't night vision. She simply enjoys the show and stuffs her face some more.

Cheru approaches Altrius.

Altrius has already left.

"As do I, Alty. As do I."

He stops when the lights go out, and sighs.

"Well this seems a little early in the evening for drama."

"Everyone everyone, please calm down.. I believe the power simply went out. Sanderson, would you see to it..?"
A tall Domovoi in his human form dressed in a black suit with grey hair steps out of the darkness and nods. His form disappears in a swirl of wind as he speeds off.

A blinding flash of light fills the room and a scream is heard.
As the light fades, the corpse of a mermaid girl is laying on the ground in a pool of blood. Everyone screams.

Kyle tries to remember if there were any tracks.

Keith puts down the food and instead summons his shield.

He sighs and keeps a mental note to have Yukari or something talk to him about it.
"For a conspicuous noble, he's sure damn hard to find..."

He then notes the corpse. Yukari and Elizabeth look on in shock.

Maja doesn't see the corpse, as she has already left to follow Altrius back to his hotel room. And of course she glares and mutters angrily at him.

Yukari, of course, grabs the knife she keeps, tied to her leg. Cheru stands next to Frigid with a handgun in hand.

Elizabeth herds people away from the body. Presumably Carrick might be on the way, if he isn't busy, to claim her soul.

"They had to include a mermaid girl, didn't they? And tonight was going so well, too..."

When he opens his eyes, death can be seen in them. In many ways, kelpies are the lords of the sea, meaning that was his subject, after a fashion. And it is clear this does not please him.

Seemingly no tracks are found--just the corpse which was stabbed in the back.

Another flash of light, and Cheru senses a whirl of wind beside him heading towards Magnus. As the light fades, Sanderson is sending a flurry of knives towards a tall wraith-like figure with a black hood and a white mask over it. The figure appears to have dashed towards Magnus, but was intercepted by Sanderson.

Cheru fires his gun at it, while Yukari can be seen pushing people away from it. Elizabeth hurls spirit fire, while contacting her ally.

Carrick gets up from his room and lumbers out of the apartment and down. He senses where Elizabeth is- part of the bond he has with his companion spirit- and heads in that direction.

Kyle puts on his gauntlets from seemingly nowhere. In reality he simply planned for a fight to occur and put them in his jacket's back. He looks around for where the next target will be.
