Russel looks at the ground, embarrassed.
"So..."

Russel hesitates for a moment, seeming almost unsure of what to do, then awkwardly sticks his hand out.

Maria's grip is pretty weak, but surprisingly firm. Which is to say it's hard to squeeze her hand, but she barely squeezes Russel's hand in return. After the awkward handshake she stands awkwardly around.
