The stone is ripped out, dissolving into red sparks into Tom's hand. The Pestilent Alchemist stops moving, now a lifeless corpse.

Carrick arrives and just cleaves the thing in half with his shovel to make sure.

The Pestilent Alchemist indeed seems dead. Trianna is cowering in the corner still.

Carrick then summons his wraiths to feast upon the corpse's halves to be sure. Better to be safe than sorry.
