Kyle sighs and goes to pick up Mr. Knuckles.
"Can you bleed out?"

He is indeed bleeding, and very much profusely. And also in excruciating and agonizing pain, to the point where he doesn't even register what he's saying.

"Well, the shrapnel stays in so you don't die as fast."
Kyle picks him up and starts jogging down the fire escapes.

Bruce is still meeting up with the PA's mistress.

"D-Dragonslayer... l-l-listen to me..."

Kyle looks down at Knuckles.
"Yes sir?"

[PrivateNomad]

"Y-You've... g-g-got potential, Kyle... just believe in yourself, because you're strong. You can fight the evils of this world, while people like me have done so long enough.

Y-You'll be... t-t-taking orders d-directly... from... M-Magnus, f-from now on..." With a tear falling out his eye while constraining himself from coughing blood, he weakly salutes Kyle.
 "It...I-It.. has been an honor, Commander Kyle."

Then Mr. Knuckles falls silent and limp.

Kyle shakes Knuckles.
"Knuckles? ... Knuckles!? Knuckles!!!"
Kyle starts flat out sprinting to Magicsteady.

He reaches Magicsteady - and everything is absolute chaos. Agents are racing around filing papers about the incident while agents are being dispersed to investigate the attack.

Kyle runs to the infirmary.

Everyone is working there as equally. A lamia girl looks at Kyle.
 "C-Commander Johnson?"

Kyle frowns.
"What? Don't stand there dilly dallying! I want someone to at least confirm Knuckles is dead!"

They all rush around and examines Knuckles.
 "Y-Yes sir... he's dead," the lamia girl explains with a frown.

Kyle sighs.
"Dammit, that's what I thought... I suppose someone needs to inform his family?"

Everyone stops as they look at the doorway. The large man clad in blue arch-mage robe, Magnus, walks inside.

"Eugene didn't have any family," the half-elf explains, his voice reverberating with raw power even in normal conversation.
