The guardsman falls backwards onto his butt and explains between sobs. I-I.. Well we're.. We're all that's left.. We were the only ones up here, on wall-duty. Zabi came in on the opposite side of the compound. Captain Weiss was on the comm. Told us to stay put, so we hid here. He saved us..

You finally get the two men to calm down; Biggs and Wedge are their names. Biggs is the tough one and Wedge is the sharp one. They say that the Zabi have a planetary dropship somewhere amongst the dunes. They landed far off and deployed, likely moving in on foot, though it's been confirmed that they have at least three medium VTOLs providing air support. The Zabi lost nearly all their armor in the assault. Anything that wasn't destroyed was limping by the end of the fight. It's all been pulled out and all that now remains are a few light mechs acting as a picket force. The Zabi have at least two platoons of riflemen with hovercraft support left inside "cleaning up."

Biggs' wide-eyed expression sets you on edge. Just before you got here, it seemed like something had really riled them up. They were opening up the north gate to bring something in right before we.. Er..

Wedge turns away. The Zabi would've heard any broadcast we made, and I doubt anyone on Dabais is alive anyways.. Dabais is the name of the orbital moon base. Your brother Victor is the commander there. The Zabi surely would've had to pass it on their way down here. It's armed with fixed anti-ship batteries and the Steiner flagship, the Thundaga, as well as several squadrons of heavy aerospace fighters. Wedge might be a coward, but his logic is sound. If the Zabi are here on the planet then they would've had to take out the fortress-base as well. My prince, the palace is the only other installation down here. We need to find a hover and get to the spaceport before the Zabi find us.

You go back to the armory to get the Rad Driver. The three of you drag it back to the connecting hallway together. I can carry it on my own my prince, but I hope you understand that if we need to fight I'll need to set this monster down. While Biggs is talking Wedge checks the weapon. It looks functional. It powered up properly so the battery still has some charge but.. It's not loaded. The shells are probably kept somewhere else.

Yes, my Prince. Biggs hefts the Rad Driver onto his back and you lead the way.

The door to the garage-hangar hisses open. The room is crawling with Zabi and the three of you immediately duck inside and take cover behind some nearby power cells. They're stacked side by side and quite large, nearly as tall as you, and they're practically glowing with charge. You peer around one end of the wall of cells while Biggs does his best to set down the heavy Rad Driver without dropping it, and you adjust your grip on the Spool Gun as you take stock of the situation.

The floor is clear, all the vehicles having been used up in the fight. Except one, a small hover that looks like it could hold about 10 men. Unfortunately it appears to be awaiting maintenance, and its hanging from several hooks that suspend it far above the ground. It's but an engine with a frame, virtually useless. No chance of escape that way.

Not that it would be possible to get a vehicle outside even if there was one, the Zabi are far more dangerous-looking here. They're moving quickly in small, organized groups that carry heavy crates, and with several men on guard watching over them as they haul them to a pair of waiting hovers, a mid and a superheavy, respectively. You notice that they're under the watchful eye of an officer this time. You're unsurprised as you instantly recognize him.. Keep it moving. Once the salvage is loaded we're moving out.
