No, my keyboard is broken, so I can't update this. However, I did start a smaller, simpler RTD that I could probably update on this iPad until my keyboard gets here.

It's supposed to mean that I'm excited for the game to continue and that I want it to happen as soon as possible.

Not Quite Dead

You finally manage to shake yourself out of your stupor. It feels like it has been weeks, perhaps even months, although you know that it's only been minutes since your talk with Jonas. You get back to directing work, setting tasks for your people.

The soldiers report that nothing appears to be out of the ordinary in the bandit camp, with them just going hunting, drinking, singing, and gambling. One of the guards points out that they are fairly visible down there, but admits he doesn't have any ideas for hiding them.

Meanwhile, the farming crew gets to work. Together with a few masons, they finish the well, and even pull in a small vegetable crop. It's not a lot, but it means you at least have some farmable land. The woodworkers get to work, meanwhile, and put up one decent, actual house. They would've built more, but they ran into problems during construction, with an unstable foundation nearly causing a collapse. One of the farmers comes up to you with the idea of making it a tavern, although, admittedly, they wouldn't have much to sell besides potatoes, lettuce, and water.

Finally, you look around for miners. You find, astonishingly, that ten of the peasants, and one of the overseers, worked in a mining crew before coming with you. They even brought a few tools, although they're fairly lackluster.

The blacksmiths the bowyer chooses to help him appear very happy to have something to do. They manage to make about ten decent, although not great, crossbows, along with a few bolts.

Overall everyone seems happy, although a few blacksmiths grumble about having nothing to do.

IT'S ALIVE! Thank you all for being so supportive. Tell me if I missed something.

Fact of the Update: Experience Levels
All soldiers have experience levels, one of the many things that decide their bonuses in combat.

-Untrained (No training at all. Will probably be slaughtered in an engagement.

-Green (Has a bit of training, but little or no experience. Can fight, but not very well. Most levies are either this or Trained.)

-Trained (The "Normal" level for soldiers. Most levies are either this or Green.)

-Experienced (Well trained men, with experience. Usually the professional core of the Kingdom's army is this level.)

-Veteran (Some of the best soldiers in the army. That grizzled sergeant archetype? That's this.)

-Legendary (The Very Best. Few men anywhere on the planet can claim this level.)

See if the bandits want to move inside.

... My feelings on this are... Ugh... Sure, do it.
Also, plan a quarry. We can use the stone for repairing the keep, and traps. Lots of traps.

See if the bandits want to move inside.
They haven't killed anyone yet. +1
Make more crossbows, and set any available peasants to train with them. Build a few more shacks - make our total around thirty. Have the blacksmith assist in bolt and crossbow making. Also have them make spears with any spare metal. A carpenter should make wooden oval shields for our levies when needed.
Also, plan a quarry. We can use the stone for repairing the keep, and traps. Lots of traps.
((Isn't one Kevak enough?)) +1 to quarry planning/making.
