And I doubt they were never a dick to anyone. Everyone does it at some point, by accident or not.

Well, yeah, they were dicks sometimes. The only person here who could possibly be not a dick ever is Gelid. And she's dead.

They do steal....from dicks: monsters or humans. And give it to people- again people or monsters, mostly monsters because the world is mostly monsters now, who are considered unworthy to help. I know it doesn't balance out, but it at least reduces the impact of, y'know, stealing.

Meh. Again, tonberrie karma isn't all that fair. Batman would be instagibbed. So would the Joker, ten times more, but still. It's not a very understanding magical phenomena.

Very little blood, actually; at least very little tonberrie blood, until one side wins. Tonberrie karma magic doesn't make an exception for tonberries; they're actually probably worse than everyone else, since they murder so many people/monsters(people are less valued than monsters, though, so yeah). However, when tonberries want to be, they're deadly fast, and their strength, of course...well, every time they miss, something will get stabbed, and that something will die. Even if it's already dead, or can't die. A building get's stabbed, it loses structural stability and starts to fold in on itself. A river gets stabbed, it'll start to flood and build up sediment until it forces itself into a new path. Etc. this only applies when they're in full on grudge-match mode, of course, but if two tonberries are fighting, something really, really, really bad went down between them. And as soon as one of them so much as nicks the other, they basically explode into gore.

Stealing their magic probably means you've stolen their lantern, and needs to be used with a knife, the sharper the better, so you may have stolen that from them. Stealing their lantern is basically the worst offense ever since that means you've stolen someone's soul(though the tonberrie you stole it from will be a bit busy drooling mindlessly to try and kill you), and every tonberrie in a 50 mile radius will be coming for you.

So if it stabbed, say, the equivalent of the grim reaper? They sound quite like they have permanent mystic eyes of death perception.

You mean like if they stabbed Carrick? Bullshit shenanigans would happen, that's what. First off, t would only apply if they were, again, in full on grudge-match mode, and second off, the grim reaper would probably get replaced and subsequently stop being the grim reaper. The death of the identity, more than the death of the body, in that case. Ever read Mort, Discworld series? Kinda like that.

That halfway up to the guy in charge of the grim reaper. If he did manage to get stabbed by a Grudging Tonberrie, since I'm sure he could avoid it easily if he cared to, his existence would start to fade aeay and leave him as something else. Since the grim reaper is a necessary position and fate and bullshit, things would alread have been put into place such that a new grim reaper would rise into being just as the old one faded.
