Run from immediate battle, find something that could be used as a weapon or armor.

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

I've thought about it, and decided to allow freely scavenging, resting, or using credits during this fight. I'm also changing ranged combat and adding a new mechanic: Guarding. Furthermore, breaking off from fighting is now an automatic success if there are enough people fighting the target (Usually 1. The boss is 3).

You'll recover half of your max HP if you rest near the battlefield, plus the standard regeneration chance. Resting in town fully heals you, and is faster if your HP is below zero. Town also has slightly better deals for buying equipment.

Ranged combat will now spark no retaliation if the target is busy, but then you'll have a chance to hit whoever is keeping the target busy. This chance goes down as you get more skill.

Guarding targets either a single ally or everyone fighting one monster. With the initial skill level, these will grant a 75% or 50% chance of success, respectively, with a failure forcing you to fight the monster. You will not count as one of the people keeping the monster busy, even if you fail. If you succeed, you'll absorb any damage that would have killed your ally (leaving them one HP away from death). If this blow kills you, your ally dies as well. Your armor and shield help, but your fighting skill will do nothing. Each person may only be guarded once per turn, and guards may not themselves be guarded, even if they fail and get into a fight.

I never got my sling, did I? x)

...If possible at all, use peripheral vision and memory to search for either a bow and arrows or a sling and some stone pile.

Froggy Sargent
Charge the Frog sarge! Club his leg off! I'll club yer legs off!
{1d4+1=2+1} vs {1d8+2=4+2} = 1 damage received. You exchange blows with the boss, and barely manage to raise your shield in time to avoid being a crushing blow to the ribs.
-1 current HP
+1 max HP
+1 fighting skill

Charge the sergeant on my Bear Cub. Attack him with when I get close enough.
{1d4+1=4+1} vs {1d8+2=3+2} = A tie! Your fierce yet slow charge takes the boss mildly off guard. His half-hearted parry is barely enough to save him.
You learn only that the RNG doesn't much like you.

Fight!
{1d4=1} vs {1d8+2=7+2} = You casually approach the giant amphibian and instantly win a powerful moral victory.
Deceased

Grey Greater Frogman
Attack the Grey Frogman!
{1d6+2=5+2} vs {1d6+1=4+1} = 1 damage dealt. Your foe is surprised by your ferocity. You deliver a solid hit and then yawn at him.
+1 attack skill

Attack a lesser frogman. {1d3=grey}
{1d4=1} vs {1d6+1=5+1} = 4 damage taken. You try to stab the grey frog in the back while someone else distracts it. It backhands you mid-swing and quickly jumps back, shoving you over. The fall snaps your neck.
Deceased

Strength in numbers! Assist [Samarkand]!
{1d4+1=2+1} vs {1d6+1=6+1} = 3 damage taken. You stare in horror as the frog mercilessly kills your friend. He stabs you as soon as he notices you, narrowly missing your heart. Your "armor" is now useless, and your weapon is ruined.
-3 current HP
+2 max HP

Assist [Samarkand]!
{1d5+1=5+1} vs {1d6+1=4+1} = No damage dealt. You score a light hit against your friend's murderer, but you don't think you hurt it.

Green Greater Frogman
Sob upon finding Ochita the first's body, but then shrug and go for the green greater frogman!
{1d4+1=4+1} vs {1d6+1=1+1} = 3 damage dealt. The green frogman is staring at the giant monster frog. You take its distraction to run up and stab it. It is still for a brief moment, then falls over, dead. Your knife broke off in its brain.
+3 credits
Knife broken
+1 attack skill

Yellow Greater Frogman
Keep the lesser frogmen in the river! Hold them back so the others can fight the big frog!

(Aka, attack a lesser frogman.) {1d3=yellow}
{1d4+1=4+1} vs {1d6+1=1+1}. {1d6=5}, equipment breaking critical. You have a light sparring session with the yellow frog, resulting in it being near death and having badly torn up hide that wouldn't stop a stick.
+1 attack skill

Everyone Else
Find a good weapon to defend myself with!
{1d4=2} You find a club someone dropped. It's not in very good condition.

Run from immediate battle, find something that could be used as a weapon or armor.
{1d4=3} You find a sharp knife somebody carelessly dropped.

Find a weapon!
{1d4=1} You are too busy being horrified by the battle to go corpse-looting!
+1 scavanging

I never got my sling, did I? x)

...If possible at all, use peripheral vision and memory to search for either a bow and arrows or a sling and some stone pile.
{1d4=3} You find a sling and a bag of small round rocks.

Scavenge ranged weapon/pile of rocks, keep the thing busy with them.
{1d4=4} You find a pair of javelins!

Shouldn't that be one damage dealt? 6 vs. 5?
