Did somebody say Saber?
Because that's boring. Let's go with Assassin.

Aww, you wrecked our stalemate, if you just picked Saber we could have a page or two page long argument where we bash each others choice til a 5th guy shows up/the writer picks for us/one of us give up.

So much fun lost:

"Saber is played out!"

"Assassin is a larger threat right now"

"Berserker is going to be AWESOME!!"

"But Archer was pretty cool...and funny..I want to hear more about him"

"I just wanted to go shopping..."

I note that you listed 5 ideas there and none of them supported Saber. Well, I did the same thing.

Well I don't know why someone would support saber, maybe so our guy can have some insight into her or something maybe ask her stuff later or figure something out, like you said, saber is the boring the option. But if I must put one line that defends saber:

"She is our Servant, we have to consider her and try to think on how to win this using her, not waste time on pointless thought on servants we have seen once at most."

Weeellll, Kiri (and people who were not prior fans of Fate/StayNight) would not know anything about Saber and thus would want to find out more. So there is one reason.

Can I hear your reasons?

I don't see much of Macbeth, "The Red King" or otherwise, in this guy. He encouraged Christianity, has no real mention of any fondness for cheese as far as I can be bothered to look the now.

If it helps, it's not so much condemnation of the church but of authority in general.

Archer doesn't have a history of enjoying rules or organization.

Okay, so we might have narrowed it down to nearly every rebel / non-law-abiding citizen ever to grace history.

Well, he also:
  • Spent a long time away from civilisation,
  • Has renowned linguistic skills,
  • Can ride horses/basic vehicles,
  • Has a dislike of authority/rules/organisation,
  • Wears a Wide-brimmed hat (which a cursory Google search tells me can refer to a number of different kinds),
  • Has an apparent love of chesses (which, probably isn't all that relevant to his identity),
  • He can somehow cancel our dear holy sword.

His skills might lead me to wonder if he is some sort of explorer?

Maybe Archer was a better choice to think about after all. I mean, what can we really say about a shape-shifter who can be anyone at this time, with the only clue being a scar on her (well, it could be a like a 40 year-old guy masquerading as a 15/18-ish girl, but every form thus far has been female) lip? Then again, if you have already started writing the Assassin choice, then I don't want to be a bother.

------------------------------------------------------------------Think about Assassin

The mysterious Assassin of the Einzberns fills my thoughts.
Even though I feel like I've already stepped off the path that could lead me closer, she's still an enigma.
In fact, I quickly find I don't have the information to draw any conclusions.
I spend an hour pouring over what little I know, but before I know it, I'm drifting off into a deep sleep.......

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When she wakes up, the girl is in a garden.
It's as beautiful as any could be, a garden on a scale not seen since Eden.
The sun of the desert filters down through apple trees, heavy with fruit despite the season, onto soft green grass with blades as fragile as if they were made out of sugar.
Somewhere out of sight, bards play a hazy tune, and nude dancers undulate to the rhythm in a hypnotic manner.

Everything is obscured by a haze she can't blink away.
Except for one old man, sitting on a marble bench in the center of the garden, watching her come to.

“.............muh....”
Her head throbs as she slowly gains consciousness.
“Where am I?”

The words are spoken in soft Arabic, and the discrepancy wakes me up somewhat as well.
Is this a memory?
Where did it come from?

“This is a secret. Most Hashashin see it only once. Only the most loyal can return, but this is what I can give to you.”

The bards continue to play as I watch the scene from the girls eyes.
“It's a very nice garden.”

The old man chuckles.
The haze is effecting my vision as well.
A white blot swirls in front of his face, obscuring all detail. His head is shaved and his skin only the most vague shade of brown.
“Do you like it? It belongs to me, but I share it with my most loyal. Are you loyal?”

“Who are you?”
She asks him bluntly.

“I am your leader, the Old Man of the Mountain. I have no name.”

“You're the leader of the cult....”

“Yes.”
The old assassin sounds bemused.
I guess most acolytes don't ask such questions in his garden.

“...That's the most beautiful thing here then. No dancer and no tree compares to the beauty of being able to change another mans mind.”
She finally sits up, shaking her head.

“Most do not keep such lucidity. Have you trained for this before?”
The Old Man of the Mountain is suspicious.

“No, I have always been this way.”
The girl speaks softly, but honestly.
She feels no need to shout what she feels is the truth.

“You are a smart woman. And dangerous.”

The girl only nods.
If the Old Man wished to kill her, she would already be dead.

“I do grow old... But I must know you are loyal to me and your brothers before I name you my successor. I have no wish to be assassinated myself.”
The Old Man speaks frankly.
This is no longer the usual promises of wealth, power and heaven.
This has become something more like a job interview.

“When you awaken from this dream, you will find yourself in a new bed, high in one of the towers. When you are awake enough to stand, I want you to seat yourself on the edge of the parapet, facing outwards.”
A strange command.

“There is a army coming. The most loyal of your brothers and sister will join you. If God wills you take my place, he will preserve you.”

To her credit, the woman does not ask any questions.
If she did, he would kill her.
So she only nods, and says,
“Of course, Master.”

The next morning when she awoke, she would seat herself on the parapet for half a day, watching the sun and what clouds drifted over the bleak desert. A European would come with an army in shimmering steel, and demand the fortress be handed to him.

The signal would be given, and she would jump.

And God willing, she would survive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wake up at my usual time.
It's six o' clock. Arturia is probably just now waking up as well.
Father should be in the kitchen. Mother is probably still asleep, though.
And Saber is a Familiar. She won't need sleep.
I----------

1) Go talk to Arturia --

1a)   About Magic.
2a)   About the Holy Grail War.

2) Go talk to Saber --

1b)   About Arturia.
2b)   About the Holy Grail War.

3) Go talk to Father --

1c)   About Saber and Mother.
2c)   About the Holy Grail War.
3c)   What's for Breakfast?

Guess it was to much bother to let you change your vote, oh well, can get Archer next time.

Still, thinking we have some unexplained vision, we really should have went for Berserker or Archer.

Now, so many choices, would like to get to know our sister more, but also want to talk to saber.
Grail War is the clear topic but learning more about breakfast is most definitely an important as well.

Oh, I quite liked that, even if we didn't learn much we didn't already know (which is logical, since Kiri knows nothing).

Ah, quite a few choices. While I agree that breakfast is extremely important, and would like to know "about Saber and Mother" or "About Magic", I think we should talk about the Holy Grail War. In order of preference:

2b)   About the Holy Grail War. (Saber, she will certainly help)

2c)   About the Holy Grail War. (Dear dad, who will probably help, but may be somewhat less focussed.)

2a)   About the Holy Grail War. (Arturia, she seems as clueless as us, but who knows, she might have learned something about the other masters.)
