-------------------------------------------------------------------------Stop this.I hesitate.
Servants are Heroic Spirits. They're ridiculously powerful.
Am I really about to attack one?
That's foolish.
The point is moot in any case.
Archer slowly draws his hand out from his overcoat.
He's holding something strange.
It's something long, thin and flexible.
It's light yellow and ridged, like an old greek column.
It's also wrapped in a clear film.
Could this be his noble phantasm?
“Cheese stick?”
Archer asks.
The tense mood dissipates in an instant.
Everyone is looking at Archer.
“I like 'em. So I keep a couple around to offer to friends. You want to be my friend?”
Saber looks like she was just smacked.
Arturia shares her expression.
Did a Servant just offer us cheese?
“H-Hey! You took that from my refrigerator! That's my cheese!”
His Master is in a huff.
Arturia, Saber and I are all still processing this.
Did a Servant just offer us stolen cheese?
“This is certainly going to be a unique war.”
Saber is the first to get her wits about her.
She reaches out timidly and grasps the cheese stick.
There's a rustle as she pulls the plastic off.
“Saber, wait, that could be poisoned!”
Arturia stops Saber from putting the cheese in her mouth.
Arturia, I don't think that Archer poisoned cheese as a tactic.
“It isn't poisoned. On my honor.”
“And what honor is that? We don't even know who you are!”
Arturia seems determined to get us in a fight.
“Arturia........... I don't know of any heroes who are famous for poisoned cheese.”
I find my voice and add my two yen.
This is Servant Archer, anyway.
If it was Servant Assassin it might be a valid argument.
Still dumb, but valid.
“In any case, I am a Servant. Mundane poisons would not hurt me for long.”
Arturia raises a hand in front of her face in a familiar gesture. She's definitely more Tohsaka than I am.
“Fine, do what you want. But don't whine to me when you die of cheese poisoning.”
“Heh heh.”
Archer laughs at something.
“I've been eating cheese all my life. Grew up big and strong too.”
Archer crosses his arms and looks Saber up and down.
“Maybe she needs a little more cheese?”
And says something dangerous.
The cheese hits the ground.
Saber's face is scary.
Archer takes a step back.
“I don't really like cheese.”
What is this murderous intent?
Archer can feel it too.
“...........................................”
Everyone backs away from Archer.
Even his Master abandons him.
“H-Hey, I was just kidding, I didn't mean it ma'am, honest-”
“Fufufufufu................”
Saber laughs darkly.
Murderous intent washes off her like a gale.
“You see lions eat meat.....”
Saber launches herself through the air.
“......AND I'M HUNGRY!”
I'm not sure if I should laugh or scream in terror.
My body compromises by trying to do both.
Saber slams into Archer and knocks him to the ground.
GAO!
The Saber lion fights like a feral beast!
“Archer!”
That's right the Master!
I have to protect Arturia!
I sprint and position myself between Andrea and Arturia.
I make a barrier for spells with my body.
But her attention is on the incredible fight before us.
Two Servants clash!
One armed with absurd headgear and a seemingly limitless supply of cheese!
It seems to come from nowhere, some sort of dairy Reality Marble!
Unlimited Cheese Works!
But Saber has the upper hand, fighting with tooth and claw, literally pummeling Archer into the dirt.
Truly a lion in human form!
“Saber, stop that.”
Arturia ruins the mood and the fight.
Saber stands, silver armor gleaming in the rising sun.
She crosses her arms and glares at Archer.
“You need to eat more cheese, Archer.”
Archer and his Master were allowed to go home after that.
Saber claimed she felt confident she could beat him whenever he wished to fight, and after a scolding from Andrea, Archer conceded his loss.
He lived to fight another day.
The sky is stained red with the oncoming sun, but few people are out yet.
We return on our way home.
The intersection.
To the north is our home and our destination.
To the east, Shinto, and the church where we just came from.
There's a shopping district to the south. As of late, I've been doing much of the family shopping.
And to the west is a mountain, with the school and, further away, Ryudou Temple.
We head north, heading up a small hill.
There we notice someone strange.
There's a girl there.
Silver-white hair is cut to her shoulder, swaying in the breeze.
Eyes as red as blood look us over.
She looks young, but older than we are, maybe high-school aged.
“.........Hmmm? It looks like they summoned her quick.”
Her voice reminds me of someone.
But worse......
There are two of them!
“They did. It seems the Betrayers children grow smarter with every cycle, if what your Grandfather told me is true.”
The one on the left speaks. She's wearing plainer clothing, though the face is precisely the same, save for the small scar on the upper lip of the one on the left.
“Hah! I guess so~! Well, it's getting bright out. We should head inside.”
“As you wish.”
Her and the girl beside her speak plainly.
She almost seems like..........
….........................!
An Einzbern homunculus!
Two Einzberns?
They can't both be participating.
One is a Master and one is not......
….....But who?
They start to walk towards us.
Instinctively I put myself between them and Arturia.
They don't seem to care, flouncing down the road like children.
What a strange couple.
They could be dangerous, and it might be best to take them out before they can bring a Servant to bear.
