An idea comes to you as you make your way back to the Fort, Terian was a wizard so clearly he could teach you about magic and how to use it, with that idea in mind you rush back to the keep. As you pass through the doors you find that the previous guards have rotated with some others and entirely new faces, excluding the man named Markus (a dark haired, middle aged man of average height) who you get the feeling is almost always here on the first floor. The guards mumble, and glare at you but none stop you as you head up through the tower to the third floor though you find a pair of men wielding spears, and dressed in black leather armor stop you as you attempt to step into Terian's area, one of them shouts at you as his spear levels at your head.
"Halt, Terian does not wish to be disturbed at this time, turn arou.."
He's cut off as the old wizard yells out to them,
"If it's that Nameless Soldier go ahead, and let him through Geralt and Ricon, I was expecting him to return anyway and its not like I can't spare a few moments for such a lost soul."
Scowling at you the two men lift there spears, and let you past, it takes a few minutes more to navigate the maze of bookshelves and crates but eventually you return to the place where you first met Terian to find him sitting in a tall leather chair, a matching chair drawn up on the far side of the desk. Taking the hint you sit down, and wait for the old man to start the conversation as you get the strange sense he already knows what you wish to ask.
"Magic was once abundant, its use was common all throughout the world and people did not fear those who wielded such powers correctly for they knew the truth of the world that has been lost to time only to be discovered by a select few who themselves becomes mages, wizards, and the like. Of course in this world of False Gods the truth is hidden from the view of the many, its very existence is denied, and those who know it are hunted like dogs for seeing that which is as natural as Nature itself for it would take the power from those who seek to control it all.
Tell me this Nameless Soldier, what would you do if the world you knew was a lie, that the Gods that you worshiped were pretenders to such a lofty title, and that you had the power to strike the pretenders down? Would you let the pretenders live to try and keep the world at peace, would you strike them down and reveal the truth ... or would you take a place among them so that others might worship you as they do the other False Gods?"
