I would like to note that all of those dwarves were military, and most of them are archers.  They just had the misfortune of being too stupid to carry quivers with them.

Every single migrant on my turn had combat skills.  It was uncanny, and also why the "queen is making an army" flavor exists.

The first 2 migrant waves are hardcoded, your numbers boost to ~20 or so from thereon.
Then there's the Spring arrival. Based on how developed you are--and you should be, given the goblins.

Actually, 39, there were a few births.

Also, somehow one of the only two dwarves to survive from Jim's squad was one of the completely untrained peasants that had recently grown from being a child.  He then proceeded to create a shell artifact, though under a possession unfortunately.

Also, Toasty, the next waves are usually a lot bigger than that, you hadn't created much wealth apparently.

Also, the dwarven caravan never came because of the undead.

PPE goddamn four: I ASSIGNED BOTH MINERS TO ENGRAVING DUTY AND WE ALSO GOT AWESOME ENGRAVER WHO IS YET UNNAMED, TIRUIN CAN TAKE THAT, GO BACK TO DEADCHAT!!!

Useless migrants in my forts often become engravers, if they don't join the Pump Squad and get assigned to Dwarven Exercise Machines.


Too bad- I requested useful things like a bunch of metal bars and dogs.
