7th Galena, 111.

Despite my better judgement, I have given the order for a Boneforge to be set up, as the need for picks and axes weighs heavily on the lack of resources this fort labours under. TenderRoast is currently working on an Elvenbone Axe, which it seems is a double blow to those pointy-eared beings of grace and masculinity. As my goal is to burn their civilisation to the ground, this is entirely acceptable.

The unnamed skeleton is refusing to use perfectly good silk in its unauthorised construction, in preference to cotton cloth. ((Plant-based cloth, but meh.)) This irrationality and blatant disregard for the order of the fort cannot continue, so Ghoul Patrol (or its non-rotting members) have been stationed nearby, pending my judgement on the matter.

16th Galena, 111.

We are on the verge of trouble. A scout for the Bandit King has found us, and while he has been dealt with, thanks to my foresight of releasing an undead gorilla, more will come. Our magic must be mighty, and our forces, nigh-unbeatable. I have given an inspiring speech in the infirmary, to motivate the lazy ghouls back into service, Rotting notwithstanding, and it seems to have had some small effect. Several rolled over, and one started to shake uncontrollably, presumably in ecstatic worship.

Stripping the Elves of arms and armour is the next step, then throwing them into my Undead Flood Pit to mingle with the others until it is time for another attempted invasion. The Sheer audacity of the Bandits is unbelievable. My Fate is cast. My power, beyond reckoning, by the mere mortals who live out in the wider, and soon to be destroyed, world.

On a final note, Jreb has become fairly good at bandaging, as my toe was stubbed the other day, though with her help, I ws able to hobble back to my quarters, and leave myself to her tender ministrations. The pain would have been unendurable for any lesser man.

I must ask: How exactly do you do the "Corpse Pit" concept? Dont you butcher the invaders first for scalps and souls?

TemptsFate shall be put in soon then.  :)

I must ask: How exactly do you do the "Corpse Pit" concept? Dont you butcher the invaders first for scalps and souls?

Usually, I would. But its more a question of risk vs reward. I need more corpses to release for the next invasion, and mussel shells are not all that scary. That, and Mekhelb is a vengeful and cruel bastard.

All I did was dig a pit, floodgate over the way out (Here FB, FB, FB, come and destroy it.....) use the pit command to throw some restless walkers from the graveyard in, then start throwing in random animals when I had plenty of bones, meat and souls. then a Necro Circle next to the pit, with fortifications, so the undead are in sight of the circle (no idea if this is needed, but meh.) and Raise Mindless Undead on occasion.

... Plus I wanted to do some !!SCIENCE!! and see if Elven corpses dropped the scalps.

If you butcher elvish undeads, you should get scalps.

So in a way we can use zombies as... scalp freezers? Do corpses still rot as zombies?

EDIT: And does the Necro Circle need LOS?

Valid questions, but can they be moved to the [Warlock] Thread?

18th Galena, 111.

The skeleton Currently training our Warlock Squad (Mmwej, And Saher, although something tells me they need for fearsome names than those some half-wit peasant woman gave them while bedridden with childbirth and the pox.) has been named in a fashion worthy of its status. It shall be one of the subtle harbingers of my fate, slowly bringing my elite Warlock Warriors into their prime. Thus, the world shall be made of my children, and with a single, power laden thought, I shall Doom all the unworthy civilisations that currently encrust Numnir. I hereby proclaim this skeleton TemptsFate, for its pivotal role in my rise to supreme ruler and destroyer of All.

I also asked Jreb, in a very romantic setting, to move into my chambers. The one-armed Ghoul was dressed in new robes and bedecked with flowers, elf-skulls and a Mithril Tiara for the occasion. She asked to have time to contemplate it, as she was not worthy of one such as I. My patience is unwavering, especially in the face of those beautiful eyes, but I am going to have to order the construction of seperate quarters for her regardless, as my devoted Steward has been seeing to her needs by offering up his room for her comfort. His faithful loyalty shall have to be rewarded.

I have decided to speed up the process of creating this tower, while the bone walls are coming along in due haste, Digging up this mundane rock seems to be an interminable exercise in boredom, especially considering rock dust is tracked through the fortress, and is often billowing in small clouds that can ruin my carefully lacquered nails, and dignified masculine visage. Smudging of my eye-liner is not to be allowed. Therefore Etherially summoned building materials will be substituted for the floors from this point onwards.

21st Galena, 111.

The gods must be angry at my presumption of superiority over the ungrateful wretches that apparently make up 'civilisation' on Numnir, as they have seen fit to obstruct us with horrible wounds to the instrument of my goals, and threats to my person.
TemptsFate has been almost dismembered, in a large goblin ambush. While I was taking my morning walk through the grounds, watching the beauty of nature be taken apart and left for dead by my necromantic creations, arrows started flying at me, one barely being stopped by my chitinplate robes. TemptsFate heroicly Charged into the goblins, Swinging its arms in a parody of fighting motions, but forcing the Goblins back. I managed to get to the safety of the fortress, in my equally heroic attempt to fetch reinforcements. Stumbling to sickbay, I had my wounds (two broken nails, and a rather large and painful abrasion to the chest. And I just know it will bruise.) taken care of by my faithful Steward. The goblins were driven back at great cost, my severe wounds being the most memorable.

If TemptsFate lives, careful ministrations should ensure the continued ability to teach the incompetent Nimrods who were too lazy to rush out to my rescue. A stool, and maybe some nails on the edge of the training ground should allow it to continue the art of instruction.

1st Moonstone, 111.

The months have been drearily passing by, with only the odd gorilla or ocelot screams of pain and dismemberment to pass the otherwise uneventful time. Jreb has been obstinate in her refusal to move into my bed and life and I have had no choice but to punish her for her blasphemous stubbornness. She shall have no room, and my faithful Steward Heznh shall be in charge of her. She shall be kept in his room, so that he may keep an eye on her, and I have had an extra bed moved in to accommodate this situation.

The Boneforge has been dismantled, after basic tools and two wraithblades were hurriedly assembled by TenderRoast, and as I write he is assembling the Corrupted Forge, were all my Ironbone, and other arcane metals shall be produced. I anticipation of this momentous occasion, I have decreed TemptsFate shall be infused with Knowledge from ancient spell, imbued into a precious gem. I have been busy teaching Jreb and Heznh these secrets of our most illustriously brilliant trade, and am hopeful that they will be competent enough to do it without direct supervision.

My nails have grown back nicely, and TemptsFate is comfortably resting in the infirmary. My decision to let those rotting ghouls die of thirst was a good one, as we have no need of useless mouths when there may be Goblins about. My tremendous capabilities with magic will eventually allow TemptsFate to make a full recovery, and if not, I shall simply re-assemble him in due course.

The Marching Morons are still sparring (Renaming the Lockie Squad is still an amusing past time for me, especially watching them get thrown off rhythm during training when the new name is called out) and will seemingly be able to wield the bone wraithblades better than the pitchforks, which is a relief. watching them try to stab the stone blocks and bales of hay as practice stopped being funny after the first six months, and became slightly pathetic. In my magnanimous sympathy and kind disposition, I have given them replacement weapons.

1st Granite, 112.

A New Year. A New Beginning, some might say. My goals are to survive, at any cost. To have more than the empty title of 'Overlord'. To have a Throne Room worthy of the name. To make my enemies (Especially those thrice damned goblins. they were lucky to get out alive, with my brilliant feats of combat.) bleed and weep. To figure out how to make purple Nail Lacquer, as blue and red make a disappointing brown. And, perhaps, most importantly, to make the first start on the Library of Burning Worlds. (A working Title)

I have started on the Ground Floor. (In more than one sense) I have been keeping large sheets of silk canvas over most parts, so that the unveiling can happen without Peeking Toms, But it is an ongoing job, what with the fire minion children setting things on fire as they play.

TenderRoast seems unable to understand the commands to be imbued, and stubbornly continues to make Ironbone, If this continues, I shall have to set my Steward to other tasks, and look after this problem myself.

TemptsFate is still in the infirmary, one hand missing, and varied broken limbs. Attempting to cheer up a skeleton by using its dismembered limbs for a puppet show is apparently not helpful. I took the naysayer to task, setting Mmwej to hauling blocks for the skeleton Masons as punishment, before sending him  back to training a week later.
