Bay 12 Community Story Project
« on: March 29, 2014, 11:57:10 am »

Someone made a post in one of the threads I had created, wondering that, based upon the large descriptions that were made, what would happen if the Bay 12 Forums all worked upon creating a story.  It has been in the back of my mind for awhile, and the idea came to the forefront recently.  So, with the ability of google docs for multiple people to work on a single document, I created the above document for the story to be written in.  In order for consistency to remain and progress to be existent, there is one rule: sentences may be edited to expand on detail or on to correct spelling or grammatical errors, but the sentences must have the same meaning after the editing of the sentence is completed.

Character details, plot arcs, items, etc will be kept in the OP when we reach over a dozen pages to act as a summary.  If the OP becomes too long, the details will be transferred into separate google docs.  Since this is going to be a project of multiple people, discussion of those things will be needed so that everyone understands how everything is at the time of inquiry.  It would be preferable to keep this discussion in the thread, but you can use the comment thread in the doc, if you post a transcript of what was discussed in this thread so that those who were not there could know what was being discussed.

Let's get started, shall we?  The document is here.

I may try my hand at adding some stuff to this at some point in the future.

Looks pretty awesome.

what does, the two sentences, one written by Zanzetkuken and one by me?  It needs more work!  From other people!

By "Looks pretty awesome", I was referring to the concept.

Hmm, well since it seems that the weekends are too quiet, and I don't really feel like updating my games, I guess I'll think of some overly cliché thing to add to it.

EDIT: Added a bit of extra fluff.

Out of curiosity, Cheese, where are you going with this story?

Well, I wasn't quite sure, I had an idea when you mentioned the unmarked tombstone, but then we started going into the mystical realm.  I can still use said idea, it will just have to wait a bit.

Oh, I put that is like what some writers do with foreshadowing, implying like a death at some point or something.
What's your idea?

we'll see how it pans out.  It's a collaborative effort, after all, one person can't dictate the flow of the story.

This character is going to seem schizophrenic by the time this story ends, won't he?

It's possible.  Nay, probable.

mmokay.  My idea in general was that he was... I'm not sure how to explain it, but he is sort of lost in time.  Something disconnected him from the world slightly, and while to him very little time has passed, hundreds of years have passed in the real world.  In this, his memories have faded, pushed from the front of his mind, to be vague shadows of memory he can never quite grasp.

Oh, ok. Sounds better than my idea of writing randomly until a wild plot appeared.

Well, if a wild plot appears the next thing to do would be to capture it.
