Call the horse for your escape, but ready your bow as well. If you have the chance to take the shot before the Horse or the Dog reaches you, you might as well take it and see what kind of damage you do.

Killing the dog via archery and running would be behavior consistent with bandits moreso than with the undead, and we'd rather the humans think we are the former if possible.

On the other hand, if the dog reaches us before we can run, don't be afraid to drop the bow and fight it. A dog's main weapon is its teeth, and I get the feeling that biting a ghoul would be neither healthy nor pleasant. I get the feeling that it would take a quick bite doing some minor damage, leaving us open to get into it with our claws. The horse will also provide backup if needed should it reach us during the fight.

Then you get cities like Paris where you should basically just kill yourself already.

You won’t have to think anymore: it’ll be just like having fun!

The Plains of Grating, Fifth Age
The Age of Death, Year 625

Day 7, Early Morning

Considering your options, getting away to avoid suspicion seems most important, prompting you to run. You do not get far, with the dog toppling you from behind, biting you into the left shoulder. After a few punches you are able to shake it off and get back up to face it, but that is short-lived. While trying to dodge it going for your jugular, you stumble over a rock, with the dog upon you once more.
-14 HP

It is about this time that the horse and the skeleton on top of it reach you, with the later dismounting – as you really do not wish to risk being hit by the horse, the most viable option. The animal is quite startled by the appearance of more undead, and your claws find their mark to a whelping sound, with the hatchet joining a few moments later. A final yowl escapes the dog, and you find yourself back to your feet. Meanwhile the goats have only increased in volume, and while hastily throwing a glance towards the house what you see is not surprising, but certainly not pleasing either.

A man is standing in front of the house, about a fifth to your position near the pen. He is dressed in linen clothing, and his shacking hands hold a quarterstaff of sorts. Most unpleasant about the whole affair is that your eyes have just met – or so it would seem. You are not sure how good his eyesight is, but it is a rather clear night. Either way, he is clearly looking into the direction of you and your two animations.

" ... I think I hate dogs. "

Yeah.. unrelated to the game itself, I actually think about using tilesets or stuff. Always drawing all the landscape by hand is time-consuming and somewhat exhausting - even if I use copy-paste ever now and then.. We would most probably get more of a sideway-view. Well, you will see. :P

Guess we rush the guy, can't have him yelling for help or otherwise revealing us. Then again there may be others in the house.

Shouldn't the skeleton have a bow and arrow?

We replaced it in favor of the hatchet. He wasn't that good, and we need a soul to make him do better at archery.

Order the horse to run the man down and trample him. Once the man has his hands full with your equine friend, rush the house! Lets have some fun if subtly is off the table. Might want to draw mana from the ring first in case we need more MP for whatever is inside.

The Plains of Grating, Fifth Age
The Age of Death, Year 625

Day 7, Early Morning

After being spotted, you guess there is no other way – somehow you don't even feel that much regret at being discovered. Either way, you immediately sic the horse on the onlooker. The human – shocked he may be- retains his cool somewhat, and flees the approaching construct towards his home. To your unease, the horse is not able to catch him before he reaches his abode, and by the time you and the skeleton arrive, the door seems to be bolted from the inside.

From there now sounds of heavy stuff being dragged are to be heard, accompanied by something that may resemble a prayer, were it not accompanied with a plethora of curses. Neither of which seem to have any power to them, as you note. There is only one voice to be heard, and a quick walk around the walls shows there to be only one window for ventilation, facing towards the plains. You seem to have him trapped. For all the good that this may be, that is.
