Particularly impressive since there's no reason not to buy the GoG version instead  :P

No DRM, 30-day money back guarantee, and you can probably still get the Steam overlay through "Add a non-steam game to my library".

Maybe the server is overloaded a bit?

EDIT: Just a heads-up: the deluxe edition is about twice the size of the normal one (probably due to the soundtrack).

Let me know how good the random map generation is, because I doubet I'd be playing anything else.
Also I'd be curious if the AI is any good (people have voiced some concerns in the beta).

Argh, can't connect to Steam.  I never should have logged off an hour ago.

Got in after re-entering my password, downloading at 10MB/s :D

I don't think we will have enough info on the maps unless someone tests it specifically and I won't be getting to them till I finish the campaign. As for the AI there have been some excuses of the ones shown by some of the videos as having been older versions and to be fair AI is something you can work on last minute but I wouldn't trust any of that till some videos from release come out.

I'll be doing a random map for my first game so will report back on how that goes, but the generator seems to be fairly good from all the preview videos I've been watching.  Certainly light years ahead of the fairly awful rmg in Shadow Magic.  Certainly it's got lots of customisation options.

Well of course, but I'd like some confirmation that is was actually fixed.

Well I didn't found it too bad, except for the rare cases where the game bunched 3 houses of healing together.
Please let me know how it goes.

I'm not in a rush to get the game anymore so I can take a closer look on all information available before buying.

Aye. I really want this game but with my limited money, I would appreciate some news on the same issues. Because quite frankly, that's the bits I'll inevitable use most often.

Especially as my laptop might even be able to run it, for once.

I have done a bit of the first campaign on the hard setting and it actually manage to almost wipe my forces out during the tower battle for the first dwelling you encounter though I did start a unit down. They stayed behind the walls and used them effectively from what I could see. The problems with rushing out of safety problem seems to be somewhat fixed though I will note I am not exactly all that good at these games so at this point it could just be my side of the equation making the AI look better.

AoW3 bugs out a little at resolutions over 1080p.  The devs have promised a fix ASAP and provided a workaround for the meantime.

I'm only partway through the first campaign mission, but this game is really impressing me so far.  Great graphics and sound, an AI that's already given me a couple of nasty surprises (the good sort) in battle, very stable with no bugs so far (other than the one mentioned above), high unit diversity and a large variety of magic.  It's AoW as I remember it, even through a filter of nostalgia.  Providing they do fix that bug and the game doesn't suddenly go to shit a few hours in, I'm over the moon with it.

Oh well I bought it, since I haven't been spending much on videogames recently.
Now I have another time-vampire and rival to Dominions 4.

Edit:
Oh boy, cooler goes into maximum overdrive.
Randomed a Dwarven Dreadnought, which I found humorous.

Are you supposed to take your leader into battle now? He earns XP now.
