Well, we did say we were a Expository NPC, so doing our job every once in a while isn't a bad thing. Besides, we may earn more trust from them that way.

The pirate walks menacingly towards Rikrin. You quickly drops your pointy stick and raises your hands in surrender, but instead of shooting you in the face with his cannon, he instead grabs you and tries to stuff you into the barrel. (STR check ==> (?)) He only manages to push your legs into the cannon.
While doing so, he shouts,

Two of the adventurers grab some loot. The guy with the fire magic goes and grabs all the shaman's stuff, giving you no chance of getting the spellbook without looking conspicuous and/or starting a fight. The other one grabs some leather armor, the axe, and the pistol. The pirate takes down the flag from his ship's mast and wears it as a cape. One of his companions stuffs the remaining loot into the lootbags, and he picks them up. Then he walks over to where Dak is cowering. Ignoring Rikrin's cries of

he shoots the cannon straight into Dak's face. ((?) vs. 2) He does no damage to Dak, probably because of how awkwardly Rikrin was loaded into the cannon, and when Rikrin lands a few feet away, ((?) vs 3) his armor absorbs the impact and he also takes no damage.

The merchant reacts immediately, pulling out a gun from under his robes and training it on the pirate.
