She turn back to the goblin "If you say 'Hey, listen!' even once, I won't even bother to give you a shallow grave."

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Ah, but of course. Fire is my wish, if you please.

Now, state your business, goblin! Helper NPCs don't come around 'till the first town!

The merchant comes back from the cart, arms full of weapons.
Take a technological melee weapon from the cart.
He looks rather confused that Golemborg already has one of his weapons, but then he just shrugs and tosses the tech melee weapon back into the cart. He walks around, handing everyone their weapon.

Truly, good peddler, I fear I have misjudged you. I accept your offer; provide me if you would with an armament of suitable range and mystique to protect this noble convoy.

Subject nods "I would like an enchanted close quarter weapon."

As the merchant is giving you your loot, the goblin continues the helper NPC argument.

Spoiler: GM note (click to show/hide)
Now that you're all ready, you hop into the back of the merchant's cart and set off. While you're travelling, the goblin gives you a tip about troll fighting.

...

You can't tell if he's serious or not.

The merchant also gives you a warning.

---
LATER THAT DAY...
You are traveling down the road, and in the near-ish distance, there is a dark hole in the ground; the entrance to the Troll Caverns.
Sir Joseph is watching out the back of the wagon, and he sees a flash movement: two kobolds scurrying through the rocks! Subject-173 also catches the flicker of movement, but he only sees one of the kobolds. The rest of the party doesn't see them.
(automatic perception checks: Sir Joseph 9+2, Subject 6+3, Golemborg 1+0, RocketRacer 3+0, Merchant ?+?)

Sir Joseph and Subject-173, what do you do?

How much foliage is around the kobolds?

There is no foliage, but the ground is very uneven and rocky, giving them lots of cover to hide behind.

Alright. In that case, I jump off the back of the cart and hail them.

You both do so, but the kobolds simply shout,

and run away. They're fairly fast, but definitely not even on Rocket Racer's level. The rest of you might be able to catch them with a bit of luck, or if Rocket slowed them down for you.
Do you wish to pursue them?

Leave the kobolds to their privacy and hop back on the wagon. They seem like decent people.
