Your typing pattern of stating your conclusions as fact made it sound like you were trying to talk Guni into changing the measurements/systems/mechanics for some purpose.

^^That's how it felt to me. If you mean it that way Rolep try to make it clear. :p It makes you sound like a know-it-all when you do it the way you did before.

This isn't GM word of god, it's that this game is based off a series that's been running since the seventies. It's not something I could fix easily, even if it mattered in the context of our game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o201ZHFpvYI

I'd like to mention how unintentionally hilarious those videos can be. The video for a GM variant talks about how wonderful and important they were to the Federation, and in the background the footage shows them getting absolutely slaughtered at every turn. :P
That's because in the episode that they're using as the example is also the one where ace pilot Norris Packard wipes out an entire team of them. :p He makes his entry by impaling a Federation fighter that passes by and swinging into the battle spiderman style. He's legendary! My sig has a quote from him.

My apologies, I didn't mean to give that impression. I was just trying to say that, well...if nothing else, the images can be misleading.

Plus, aren't Gundams supposed to be made of ultradurasteel or something? How come they can be hurt by 120mm rounds that I'm guessing aren't even APFSDS or a similar ammunition type? Or are the bullets also made of ultradurasteel?

GMs aren't Gundams. They're just made out of titanium like all the other mobile suits. It's only the Gundams that are made from Gundarium alloy.

Well a titanium alloy. Gundarium does in fact successfully deflect 120mm rounds, but the GM's had to use a weaker alloy since it was costly and took a long time to produce and the difficulty involved in repairing Gundarium machines during the One Year War as it required special facilities.

Oh, also, question, Gunin:

For the Guntanks, they have autoloader, but how come we have an odd number of shells? And does that mean we can fire every turn or every other turn with them?

I already explained how loading works. You can fire one gun per turn unless they're linked, it takes one turn to reload but you can fire a different weapon because the reloading is hands-free on the guntank. I don't know how much ammo a guntank is canonically meant to carry, so I just gave you 20 shells each in the backpacks. I need to double the number in your Gear since I forgot you each have two guns. Will fix.

RGM 79's are produced with standard titanium, which is not as tough. Gundarium is too rare to use in mass-produced mobile suits.

My only issue with the titanium was because I wasn't sure how they could deal with the square-cube law without basically ignoring armor. Other than that it's the most logical choice, if the most expensive.

So both of the guns can be reloaded in one turn, yes? They reload simultaneously?

That's really awesome. I need to start crunching through the gundamns, don't I?

You're in giant robot territory, mister. Leave your square-cube laws at the door. :P

Trying to pay attention to the square cube law in mecha leads to insanity. And ugly skinny bots that look like anorexic cones.  XD Though Tomino originally planned for all mobile suit combat to occur in space to help deal with this supposedly.

It's a little noteworthy that from the Gryps conflict and onwards there are quite a few engineering efforts to reduce MS weight, and a massive design shrinking project occurs after the events of Hathaway's Flash. This was aided on by the fact that after the One Year War beam weaponry became more and more commonplace until armor pretty much became useless, forcing a greater emphasis on speed, anti beam coatings, and i-fields instead

Well it still depends a lot on peoples individual tastes. Except for SEED Destiny which is terrible no matter who you are. Anyways this is helpful

Interesting thing, peoples Gundam preferences also seem to be influenced a surprising amount by the shows they watched first based on what I've seen in /m/

Well, mechs don't consume any food, so anorexia might be a good analogy...

I just prefer more realistically sized mecha, more power armor sized than anything else.
