Prince Asoth took a deep breath and brushed some of his hair from his forehead.
"I'm glad we've settled on peaceful resolution of this... problem. Beasties? No, the gargoyles once lived in the mountains and Ancient Forest, but as we're struggling with Lodian threat and the aftershocks of the Imperial split and rogue separatists from the Badland border, we simply can't hunt and curb the monster populations. We don't have enough soldiers that's it."Eleonore thought for a moment.
"Prince Asoth, I apologize for the behaviour of my people. We're in shock and didn't think straight." She bit on her lip, such apology didn't fit someone her status.
"However I wish that your men stopped pointing weapons at our faces." Asoth looked at Eleonore, then at Colt, and waved his hand. The horsemen put their lances and bows to their sides.
"Thank you... and I think I will see those 'Archives' you said about. If there's any arcane or divine explanation for this entire situation, books might be of help. Or... or maybe I will rest for a moment first. There are inns in this, um... time period, right?" "Yes. There's much more you have to know first... but we will escort you to the nearest city. I need, however, to ask you and your companions to declare what and how many weapons they're carrying. It's that or my lieutenant won't relent till we have your unarmed." The hothead cavalier at his side let out a mumble. Eleonore looked at Asoth, and then at her entourage.
"I have this mere healing staff, Prince Asoth." Eleonore explained obediently, turning her head toward Asoth again.
