Colt could not hear Einar over the winds he was summoning to do battle with. It was one convenient fact to being a wind mage that idle retorts from creatures as base as he fall upon deaf ears. Having a rusty lance slashing into his side was another matter entirely. Pain lurched through his body sending waves of cold remembrance down his spine. He staggered backwards with fury in his eyes.

There was going to be hell to pay.

Move to 10, 10 and wipe Gargoyle I from this plane of existence.

"... Thanks, I think. I've been training with this bow for most of my life. If I can't hit one of these things, I should just give up I think. As for you, miss Halldora, you're welcome. I will always compliment a well placed blow, especially coming from a lovely lady."

Cidney and Halldora rushed to score some mad hits on the beasties.

Quote from: Cidney vs Chieftain
Hit: 94+10-19 = 85
Hit roll: 23, hit!
Damage: 12-2 = 10dmg

Chieftain counters!
Hit: 95-10-19 = 66
Hit roll: 76, miss!

Quote from: Halldora vs Gargoyle K
Hit: 107+15+5-12 = 115, autohit!
Damage: 10+1-3 = 8dmg

Then Einar shot at the Chieftain; the arrow hit right in the monster's head. With a pitiful gurgle, the mighty beast fell down.

Quote from: Einar vs Chieftain
Hit: 102+15+10-19 = 108, autohit!
Damage: 24-6 = 18dmg

The moment the largest of gargoyles fell down, the rest took into the air and flew away, screeching, squeaking and shrieking in terror and fear of the ones that felled their chieftain.

~~Prologue Complete!~~

The horse-stomping came closer. Suddenly, the pair of gargoyles that flew south from Jorund and O'Connor got pincushioned by many arrows!

Soon, an entire cavalry unit ran from around the corner, quickly forming a lengthy line. There was at least ten cavalries, five bowmen on horses, and two horsemen with healing staves. A horseman in cape and decorated armor rode from between the lined cavaliers and looked at Eleonore and her guards.

"Greetings! We have heard the Howl of the Hunt, but I see-" He glanced at the corpse of the gargoyle's leader. "That our intervention wasn't really necessary."

Eleonore stepped forth and looked at the mysterious cavalry leader. She seemingly took great notice of his armor. Then she looked at his face just in the same moment as he looked at her face.

There was a moment of silence as the two stared...

"Thank you kind sir, could you help us? We seem to be a little... lost. First of all, can I have your name?"

"You're speaking with Prince Asoth, praefect of the Western Territories, son of Emperor Horus the Third, ruler of the Northern Rivan Empire!" The horseman at Asoth's right spoke loudly - Eleonore blinked, her mind processing the wording of that introduction.

"Thank you Olivier but I could do it myself. Well, there's that. May I have your name, m'lady?"

"I... I would rather... could you tell us where we are? We have stepped of the road and... got lost..." Eleonore's face turned pale as she touched her head gently. She didn't look well.

"...You're strange one. But I guess I can tell you? These are ruins of Castle Eferia, a kingdom that my venerable ancestors conquered three hundred years ago and- M'lady!"

Eleonore fainted and collapsed to the floor.

Halldora turned just about as pale as Eleonore,  Opening and closing her mouth several times, she barely avoided fainting as hard as Eleonore.

 :"Lady Eleonore!"

Colt dashed to her, kneeling on the ground by her limp body. With a quick motion, he propped the young noblewoman upon his knee. He could not blame her for fainting, for his own head was swimming black revelations. All the finery of Efria. Gone? Certainly... This could not be... How?

: "This... This cannot be. This cannot be. This..."

His face was becoming pale.

"Sir, they're behaving strangely and are suspiciously dressed. I suggest we arrest them."

"That's a bit rushed, Olivier. They could be southerners. Are you people allright? If you have been poisoned or some other ailments are affecting you, my troubadours could heal you. Also, I'm still waiting for your names. I would also want to know where do you come from? The fainted lady looks like one of the priestesses from the Southern Empire. If that's true I will require your travel permit as well."

Colt rose up in a fury, the pale green streaks of Wind Magic swirling about his body.

: "Damn your eyes you fool! We are NOT of the Southern Empire. I am Colt Nimbus, Nobleman of Efria, and this our Lady Eleonore, the Princess of Efria. I will not be having your 'healers' touch so much as a hair upon her head until we deliver her to Prince Ashath."

The horsemen with trained their lances and bows at Colt, but the Prince halted them with his hand.

"Please be reasonable. I don't believe that you're people from a country that isn't around anymore, not to mention that King Ashath passed away over two hundred fifty years ago, but why you're getting angry? I merely offered help in exchange for some information, because I'm getting as much confused as you are now."

The other horsemen however didn't put down their weapons and were ready to strike any moment Colt decides to do something rash.

"Heals?"

Jorund asked pitifully, eyeing the troubadours. They were wearing the same armor as the bad people, but they hadn't attacked yet.

"... Dammit. This is what we get for trusting magic..."

Einar groaned as the mage proceeded to make the situation even worse by getting angry and making gusts of air appear.

"Right. You shut up before you get us all killed. And stop blowing wind everywhere, you're acting like a hot-headed idiot."

Turning to the prince, he sighed.

"My apologies for his outburst. But... I know this sounds crazy, but we appear to have somehow been sent 300 years in the future. I don't know how much of your histories you know, but the Princess Eleonore was to be sent to marry Prince Ashath in hopes that it would prevent the bloody war that apparently happened. To avoid running into the armies of your country, we were supposed to be sent to the castle of the Riven Empire. However... it seems that magic had other ideas. I know this is a lot to believe, but as has already been pointed out, we are dressed strangely, and you can see the effect that your words have had on my companions. Please. Try to understand. And I am sure that some of my companions would willingly accept your kind offer of healing magic."

He gestured to Jorund specifically with that comment.

"Heals?"

Nerea walks over to Jorund and heals him with her staff.

"I'm coming, Jorund. Just be patient."

"Colt, stop being an idiot and apolgize before you cause some kind of diplomatic incident."

"Besides, I'd hate to see someone marr your handsome face."

"B-because it'd mean more work for me. Yeah, that. For sure."

"Thank you pretty lady!"

Jorund took a step back, away from the Rivans, and placed himself between them and Eleonore.

"Bad people, hurt important lady?"

He wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but he was going to protect Eleonore. Even against superior numbers. It wasn't like he wasn't used to those odds on the battlefield anyway.

Jorund was confused.

"...bad people clothes?"

The giant pointed at the armor on the cavaliers. It looked like bad people armor. But, then again, maybe pretty lady knew better. He'd trust her. She was part of the group that had went out and she had healed him so she wasn't a bad person. After a few moments of pointing, the giant shrugged.

"OK."

He turned his attention away from Nerea to the Rivans.

"Jorund."

He announced himself by saying his name and pointing a thumb at his chest.
