Oh god I have no idea what I am doing.

I am apparently a sneak-thiefy goblin with a side of woodcrafting.  I have nnoooo idea how to get out of Forest Heart.

Yeah, this is kind of a con to the game to most people. It is really hard to figure out what to do and where to go. Kinda unreal world-like in that regard. Get dropped in the city and left to do own thing.

I was lost A LOT since the world is gigantic (literally, it is HUGE), but decided to stick near the city they start you at. If you go east, and a bit south on the road...you end up passing through a lot of "landmarks". And the end of the east/south road leads you to a coastal village. I noticed most of my social interaction is in that area.

That area is where I have a "base" of sorts...kinda took it over as someone abandoned it lol. Fresh water right nearby and makes good fishing. My character is more of a fisher/woodsman than anything else. I hope to make my first house eventually, but that takes a lot of resources.

One thing that confuses me is how to get metal...never have figured that part out. Supposedly you get that underground, but dunno how to get there. I looked all over and never found any access to the underground stuff. Accursed lands really just throws you into the game with little guidance...it really needs a bigger population and a better help system. Its still really fun if you like unreal world/haven and hearth though...but really easy to get lost. So I recommend staying around the city to begin with. But it sounds like you are lost already.

I managed to find my way out, but I've now been wandering around the nearby countryside with absolutely no idea what do to.  I've managed to figure out how to craft a hat and some 'foot bindings' out of grass, but in the like seven hours I've been playing that's pretty much the extent of what I've figured out how to do, and my food is slowly dwindling.  I spent like all my money to buy a knife because I thought I could use it to make fire and keep working at night, but apparently not.

Kinda annoyed because I need to keep hauling this sack around, it's really annoying.

I guess I'll head south-eastish and try to find this coastal village.  Minor abilities in carpentry, weaving, and whittling, mostly.  These thief skills probably aren't very useful, considering they apparently chop an arm off if they catch you doing it in Forest Heart, but I suppose once I figure out where the hell to get some reeds, I can make an archery target and maybe train some archery.  Then I can use stealth for hunting, I guess.  Palming and pilfering probably useless, though.

It might be easy to find an abandoned home somewhere and take it over. Of course, finding an abandoned home (it can even be a tent...tents are like the Dr who Tardis in this game :P) can be a challenge if unlucky. You can know if its abandoned if its worn down and not maintained.

With that said, you figured out way more of the game as far as crafting, than I have my whole time playing rofl. Barely can craft a fishing pole xD

As for reeds or stuff. I think if you are near the coast/river...or some water place. If you are...I think it is scavenge or search. You can find plants/food (found a raspberry) and what not.

One reason I chose fishing is for easy food :P

Fire, if you look in your satchel I think...you should have a tinderbox I think. It has flint or something, and you can cut down a tree/gather fire materials and create a fire with flint+flat stone (you can find that scavenge/search). Or maybe the tinderbox comes with stuff already made to start a fire, don't actually remember now xD

I got scratched up pretty good but I I successfully killed me a young fox.  I coup de graced it by punching its head clean off.  HUNTING

Unfortunately I am super thirsty and have no water in my canteen, so I'm probably boned.  Whatever though, I've got a severed fox head in my toolsack.

I haven't figured out how to drink from streams and stuff in the wilderness, also.  How do you do that?  I either end up trying to swim in it or just can't do it.

**EDIT**
Alright, so apparently there's an entrance to the underworld in a little landmark area on the southeast road to what is probably the coastal city.  There's a burned out place, and this stone house let me go caving.  HOWEVER, I'd advise you avoid that place, because it seems to be bugged - I couldn't exit the house, so you're essentially trapped in the caves.  If it wasn't bugged, the direction to leave the building wasn't displayed, and I failed to play 'guess the verb' to get out of there.  There is a well there though.  That might be useful if you're an idiot like me and forgot to drink/fill your canteen before you left Forest Heart.

Underworld was kinda neat, I guess.  Like, until I got eaten by some really mean and incredibly inefficient-at-killing monsters.  I think I dropped that expensive knife just before I died, too, so that's probably gone.  That blows.

Ah, I didn't realize that house let you go caving. I saw it, but guess I didn't explore good enough.

Which is funny, since I was just about to post I found a cave in the mountains...kind of a medium distance from the coastal village. I'm probably gonna take a bunch of stuff and move there. It sounds like a hard place to survive in though. So maybe its better to just stay in the little base I have. What do you think?

The only problem with the base I have, is no trees anywhere around...kinda a huge negative in that regard.

Are you going to keep playing?

(edit: LOL. Go figure I'd die drowning of all things :P Guess time to start a-new)

(Guess chat goes by account name, my account name is Aradaer. Different character name though.

I ended up making a goblin, since they tend to be my favorite race in games. Though guess according to the game, goblins are actually something else and will be re-named later.)

I might keep playing, yeah.  I might've scared up a couple guys from elsewhere.  Man, though, it's hard to see sinking so much time into this game if it's this shitty upon starting.
