Day 3Hazer sets himself up into one of the many fighting rings of Larton, and with his strong build he is quickly admitted into the fighting rings. (1 (automatic failure)) However Hazer's fighting skills seem to have dropped slightly, and facing that with the fact that his first fight was against the most successful fighter, sees him end his first fight a beaten and broken bag, fortunately the local on arena doctor (of dubious quality) tells you that you didn't break any bones, and that you should be fine in a couple of days. Your quest is cut short as you have to get sent to a place to rest, but at least you found one source of talent, too bad you can't seem to remember his name.
Can't fight for the next four days
Dodger puts his men to work finding out info on the wardens of Old and New Larton prisons, (5,7) they are able to scrounge up quite a load on both Wardens. Heinrich is confirmed to have a black market drug business, and appears to use his position as warden to ensure that his rivals get caught up in arrests, however nothing else can be confirmed. The other spy gets far more info on Kredla, it appears Kredla has even less to do with running the prisons than previously thought, and even allows his officers to receive bribes from the inmates, for a small cut of course, he also receives direct bribes to ensure some prisoners receive luxury, and there are many cases where a prisoner has conveniently gone missing after being visited by Kredla.
Dodger himself decides to tail the mayor, (1 automatic failure) however he is not long into his searching of the Mayor when he notices some enforcers heading his way at an alarming pace. He decides to high-tail it out of there as the enforcers soon put up a chase, (9+3 (intruige)) but he is able to just barely lose the men in the crowd, however the mayor will be on higher alert from now on.
Acquired activities of the Wardens
The mayor is on higher alert
Jordan attempts to get to work getting a hideout and repairing his relations with the gangs. (5) Finding a base isn't hard, Larton had docks the size of the whole rest of the city in its prime, and while they are no longer of any use, they still remain intact. (5) Procuring a handgun was pretty easy with the access to the black market provided by the allegiance of the gangs. (6+3 (charisma)) The second request to the gangs goes over much better this time, and they provide you with a list of their manpower and resources, or rather how much they'll support you with. (8 ) As for the gang members in prison, turns out there aren't that many in the prisons, and most are in New Larton Prison, operating from the protection of inside the prison. (10) Your request for a meeting with Kredla goes rather well, in fact Kredla offers to invite you to his next party tomorrow, where he assures you there will be room for private talk if you wish for it, your gangs inform you that they can very easily slip many of their men into these parties, and that they do it rather regularly.
New base acquired, old abandoned dock
Handgun acquired
Gang resources list acquired
Kredla has invited you to a private talk at one of his parties
Harvey continues to train his weak prison recruits (8+3 (martial)) the training goes extremely well, and the men are already managing to beat you when you don't try too hard, the extra foods certainly help, as they feel far more spry than they used to. (8 ) You are able to secure 'meetings' with each of the individual gang leaders for tomorrow.
Recruits are no longer considered weak
Meeting individually with the gang leaders tomorrow
Anders makes some quick greetings to his friends before informing tem of the purpose of the meeting. (4+2 (charisma)) At first they are reluctant but upon hearing a passionate speech about the injustices wrought upon himself, and some promise of reward further along the line, they agree. Of course they'll need to know what their new shops will sell and where these shops will be
Gained 5 business men followers
Yuiliana sets out to search for an empty warehouse to use as her own base, (2) unfourtunately her search ends with no such luck, as all the warehouses she finds are being used by one group or another, clandestine or legal.
John's friends arrive to hear his words, (3+3 (Charisma)+2 (research)) and although they are sceptical at first about rebelling against the Viceroy, they are eventually turned around by his words of the misfortunes caused to their families by the Viceroy. As for the situation on the troops, well as Claude puts is
"wages for the army have almost doubled under the Viceroy, so the troops themselves are pretty loyal to the Viceroy at the moment, the officers are mixed in opinion, some support him, and some despise him, though they never say it out loud." (7) Fortunately they do have enough of their own men's loyalties, or at least their lieutenants loyalties to ensure secrecy, but as for outright support for a rebellion, as Vincent puts it
"the officers will probably go for it, but the troops won't likely support outright rebellion without some other kind of reward for them, but most of our troops are locals so the cause to defend their home might be an option." They are able to get understanding with the Stevitore command structure, and each soon decide upon their dead-drops for case of capture. (9) John is then easily able to identify many commanders whose convenient 'disappearance' would greatly benefit his friends, in fact the local VAC forces have only a handful of officers, one or tow key removals could put Günter in charge of the whole of local VAC forces, which isn't much, (8 guns and just under a hundred crew to be exact)
Cell formed from friends
Local failsafe's put in place
Promotion options for allies available
Manpower, about 700 men total
They are able to smuggle just about anything into Larton between them, and they have full access to the black market
Weapons, mostly clubs and other melee items, a few guns between them, not enough to match up to any sizeable VIC force
They earn around 1400 Draks a week, of which they are willing to cut you the fair deal of 100 Draks a week
