I've attempted to deal with a similar situation with my twin, and failed many, many times. That said, I don't have much advice to offer in terms of diplomacy, though I can say that it helps to try and avoid hurting him. Push him off you, pin him down, whatever you need to do to defend yourself, but try not to punish him with your fists. (Or feet)
